Okay. I live in Florida. I live in Melbourne travel to st augustine and tampa. So a lot of hwy where i want doors on. Then locally i want doors off. Kids dont have garages. So when i visit i cant really take the doors off

My stupid idea (please tell me how stupid this is)
Build a slider bed rack that holds each door
(Standing upright on a rubber bed & attached at the door hinge to a brace) i have drawn it out. It looks like it would all fit.
No off roading (sandy beach only) and no highway.
The freedom top panels would fit also.

Please tell me this is a horrible idea.

It's a horrible idea.

but only because I think it would look silly. I want to do the same thing though. I'm in an apartment in Orlando and I bring my doors and top into the hallway in our place. Not ideal. I am seriously thinking on going Bestop two piece fabric doors to be able to just chuck them in the bed lying on top of one another under my tonneau cover. its about $1200 but much convenience.

I looked at door options. Trying to manage wind noise for those 80mph runs on 528 95 and i4. I dont think fabric would be quiet. Based on what i remember from 30 years ago

Do it and show us the results. I've wondered about a way with them not standing upright.

Oh, and when you are in St. Augustine, say hi to my son, Luke, and his wife, E.J.

Been a Jeep guy for decades....

Bottom line:. If you want to travel topless and park with some sort of security afterwards; Get a decent soft top and place your bets.

He's not talking security. He's talking he wants doors on for highway, then in town and when visiting, he wants doors off but the kids have no garage to put the doors in.
He's looking for a place to put the doors when off. He travels the highways with doors on. Like I do here because it's almost always WINDY here and on the highway, it's bad enough to blow you out of the truck.

The only thing I can suggest is a local storage unit[by the kids house]. You can get very small units for like $30 a month.

I have a worse idea. Buy an enclosed trailer that you tow with you that you can store the doors and panels in.

Oh, and my niece goes to school there at FIT. Currently interning at a small military contractor.

Might I suggest one of those hitch mounted cargo baskets as a base to mount your door holders to. Easily removable when not needed and doesn't eat into your bed space when it is in use.
