Now if I could just find a reasonably priced Rubi somewhere I’d trade my Taco. That’s the other problem, prices around here are ridiculous. I can’t find one for under$60k and most are significantly more than that.

I don’t mind buying out of state at all. As a matter of fact I love road trips and seeing new places anyway so it may turn out a win-win for me f I can find an honest dealer that won’t try to bait and switch me.

For 60K it better have every option available. Dealers are ridiculous around here also. If you order it the dealers can't add all of their crap mark-ups.

n my Sport S. I'm glad I did not buy a Taco. Nice guys. Rubbish trucks. Got stuck and had wheels in the air a lot. (combo of poor lines and lack of flex) This video was shot by a guy on our trip. I have zero issues with this section and did not need a spotter. The Jeep just drove up it. Few accused me of having lockers on this section. I don't. One told me he now wants a JT after seeing mine. Wheeling with doors and roof removed is another level. I can spot my tire with ease.

Now running 35s and a Rubicon Suspension with a Teraflex Spacer. (in Gobi)

Really...with the lockers, sway bar disconnect and higher fenders, I think you won't have to lift it with 35s. Maybe a leveling kit for $100.

I am in the same situation. I have enjoyed my Taco but I have been looking hard at Gladiators. I was surprised to learn that it looks like the best deals to be had are by ordering. I actually found one on the lot at Tri Cities, but they wouldn't deal on it like they will an order. That lead me to Gupton as they are discounting them more than Tri Cities. I am in NC so I need to do the math on whether its still a better deal to drive all the way back from Tennessee or pay more from a more local dealer. I also need to figure out the most efficient way to sell the Taco and that strategy differs depending on Tri Cities vs Gupton too. Or do I just wait until the 22's? So many decisions. I went ahead and signed up for Tread Lightly last week, so there is some progress.

I had a 2017 Taco sport that I bought because of previous good luck with them. I hated the 3rd gen because of the Camry engine in it. It never felt like a truck. Before that Taco, I had a 1st gen Raptor that I loved, but was ridiculous for the 95% of the time you’re not flying down fire roads. The Gladiator is truly the Goldilocks zone. It has torque where it should, serious off road chops, and it’s a Jeep, so all the fun that comes with that. Make the trade, you won’t be sorry

Your Taco will no doubt be more reliable and easier to drive on the highway with IFS.

I mean the Jt really isn't that bad on the highway in my opinion to be honest,once I got the upgraded steering box under warranty the truck rides a hell of a lot better,took 3 months to get it done but it was worth it I guess

Each dealership is different and the states are different. I bought mine in TN and they completed the trade-in and registration for Georgia. There was no additional work required on my end to register in Georgia. More and more dealerships are selling across state lines and familiarity with out of state purchases is pretty solid.

There is a member on here that bought his in TN and lives in Florida. A lot of other examples on here I'm sure.

Give them a call and talk through it, but it shouldn't be a huge deal when buying new.

I test drove a taco and really liked it a lot, other than their auto transmission was always shifting/hunting and really made the motor seem underpowered. Deal breaker. The AT in the Gladiator is excellent and makes everything about the driveline just “feel” more harmonious.Good luck with your decision.

Check dealers in Oregon/Idaho/Montana/Utah. Washington dealers have a lot available, but they'd probably love tacking on some stupid tax for you.

I agree on this. True it is not IFS. But do you want a street truck that can do off-road or an off-road truck that can do street? I do not drive my Jeep 100mph. 75-80 is all good. I have pushed 85. I have been blown away by a new Taco doing 100+ Got other cars for that.

If you want a convertible truck. You get few options.

I had a funny interaction the other day. Top off, doors off, cruising with the radio up and digging life. This old guy pulled up next to me and laughed a bit and in a good natured tone said "quit showing off." I get attention in this truck like it was one of my hot rods. The gladiator is for car people. I am sure others will and do buy it. But it attracts car people. Had a guy with an OG 32 Ford hot rod check out my Jeep.

You could lift an SSR. Could. But you are correct. There are some pending options. But nothing has materialized. Certainly nothing new. I am impressed with my Jeep every day. From the quality and finish to the options. (No nanny state vehicle for me!!!) The room in the cab is amazing for what it is. My 70 year old mother loved it and happily climbed up and in. She's like 5 ft 2 on a good day. I got 4 boys and it is my DD. They all love it.

More to the point - you get no options.

I owned a 2019 Tacoma TRD Off-Road for six months. I really really really wanted to like it because Toyota is my client. I tried very hard, but I just couldn’t. Build quality felt solid but boy I hated that automatic transmission. What is Toyota thinking?

Sold the Tacoma for the same amount I had paid for it new six months prior, and bought a Jeep Wrangler Sahara. Haven’t had any issues. Totally love it.
