I was really hoping for some cool Gladiator news. Anything! New dumbass flip top doesn’t count.

And really I could give a rats ass about the “Xtreme Recon” package. I’ll take my Mojave any day.

A quick word about Recon... The word Recon as they are implying, does not need an amplifying word. They are inferring to USMC Recon, I know people who are Recon, the extreme is silent and understood. Xtremely stupid.

sorry, I know, I’m a downer.

Man you are a downer.

And just to be pedantic about it all, perhaps what jeep should be offering is something like tiered recon trim like
  1. Force Recon
  2. LRRP
  3. Recondo
  4. MACV-SOG

I am feeling deflated after the nothing-burger as well. The Gladiator is only getting the flip-top deal because it applies to the Wrangler and could be purchased already, so really there is Nothing new for the JT. The Recon package is not available for the JT as of now. So we got something between Jack & Squat. Hate to say it, but I don’t forsee much changing until the Bronco pickup is announced.

It amazes me how obsessed with options and accessories the jeep fanbase is. Seems like half the people who own a gladiator/wrangler buy them solely to add aesthetic bolt-on mods. I understand that people get satisfaction from having something unique, but it feels like there's a very large group of people who aren't going to be satisfied no matter what they offer.

It was kinda of a mixed bag for me. I gambled on ordering a Mojave (a short time ago) and hoped Jeep wasn't going to announce anything yesterday that would make me regret the decision to order when I did. It paid off. I'll probably get the Bestop / Mopar Sunrider as I have one now on my JKU and love it but I can always add that later.

I could give 2 shits about what new thing is coming out. I got what I want. I put stuff on that I need/want. What Jeep does or doesn't do going forward is of no consequence to me.

Honestly, I'm just waiting on the new colors. Extremely bummed when I missed out on Gobi and Gator. Snazz, Nacho, and Sarge are alright but not for me. We'll see what they offer next. While I heard Gecko is one of them, I wouldn't mind Tank or Anvil as they sacrifice Sting Gray (as previously proposed). I do agree though, way too many grays.

Anticipating, hoping, for something bigger, better, more, is almost an admission of not being at all satisfied with what one has.
Seems to be an American thing. I want more, I want it bigger, I want it better, I wanted it yesterday.
If something came out last month that really got me wanting - then does that mean what I have is a big mistake and to be tossed to the side like a kid does with toys at Christmas?
Suddenly what they have isn't good enough, more more more and those old toys get left in a box in a closet - yet just a month ago they were better than what anyone else had. Now they are yesterday's news.

I mean if I'm dropping 50K on a new Jeep I don't wanna be paying a premium for yesterday's options. I'd like to maximize my return. Once it's in-hand I'll keep it and be happy with it for what it is, but I feel like most people in my position are just doing their homework and research here.

If used was realistic I'd go that way, but the floor on used JTs right now is basically invoice price of a new Rubicon - so that makes no sense either. I ran the VIN on a barebones rental I had last year and it's for sale for 40K right now. A used, Sport S with 30k rental car miles on it. Nuts.

IF you have not yet bought - it makes sense, but those who bought in the last year (unless the crazy vehicle pricing makes it logical) it makes little sense. Why would someone who bought in the last 6 months care about any announcements?
Doing homework, looking for the best bang for the buck, holding off to see if it would be better to wait a bit to order, that makes sense.

I have been waiting since they first showed this:

Jeep Gladiator June 14th Let Down 1626365054216

Didn't debut w/ the diesel so I waited, then when the diesel was available they dropped the 2 colors I wanted. Now it is a sea of grey + clown colors. Just make an earthy (even flat) color & I am ready to order. Not waiting for a flux capacitor and definitely not holding my breath for them to actually build what is in the picture (even tho I would much rather have it vs. crew cab)

I get what you are saying, but that has a lot more to do with how early they announce things rather than whether or not they make model changes. Pretty natural that buyers want to know what's coming.

You mean JULY 14th? Mixed bag for me as well. Put my JTRD order in last monday, kinda knew nothing new was going to be shown but still you never know. I've only have had white jeeps so color choice was never an issue. Really wish they offered the Stone White like on my 05 LJR. I may do a matte/satin wrap in the near future.

Maybe that’s me, I’m not a aesthetic mod guy. I’m really holding out for a JT 4xe Mojave. Beast power plant and beast suspension.
