Remove the plastic edges around the doors so you can lift the edges of the carpet up. Keep the carpet propped up and let a fan blow it dry. Do it within 12 hours of getting wet and it should prevent the smell next time.

Just a thought for the future, have you looked at something like the RainGear to put over in the event of a quick rain whenever you have the doors and/or top off?

You might need to get a good shampoo on the carpet and seats too. But as another has said pull out the carpet and make sure it's not wet or damp underneath. Generally it's the floor that the smell is stuck in. If you can get the jeep in the garage I'd leave the windows down (or doors off) a few nights and a fan blowing through it.

Tare the carpets out and dry them insulation side up, if it is humid after several hours in the sun bring them into a/c to extract further moisture. Then go to your next step with washing etc. I have used vinegar in the past for mold etc. the acid will kill it then you have to wait for the salad smell to dissipate. (Sounds like there are new commercial products that may be better than vinegar.) Again dry out thoroughly before re-installing carpet. If it is not DRY, it is not dead. In the dealership we did use an ionizer for interior smells and it works great on smoke etc. but that damp funk smell has to be killed first.
There are products like BG's FrigiFresh that will take the smells out of the ductwork. Remove cabin filter and spray in the HVAC intake duct with fan on hi. Wait a day or two and replace cabin filter.
Seats are less of a problem than carpet because they can breath out both sides, the carpet likes to trap moisture between the floor.
Time is of the essence! Don't let that crap grow or it will go deeper into the fabric etc..
Good luck!

remove the carpet, never reinstall it again. water gets trapped underneath so easily and if humid it pretty much won't dry out at all.

It's 2 o'clock in the morning! Do you know where your Gladiator is? Much less what its been doing? Define cheap beer? Hookers aren't always cheap. Especially when your wife catches the smell and ask who's lipstick is that on your seat.

This. Thread. Is. AWESOME!

Some great (legitimate) suggestions and a whole bunch of funny azz observations...

Anyway, this product is what I know some detailers use, in addition to crime scene cleanup crews, etc.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008LUT6XS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As repeatedly suggested, pull the carpets and clean/dry them. Change the cabin air filter and treat the odor with an ionizer (which is what a lot of detailers and dealerships use to get rid of the smell in smoker's cars) and/or the Odor Bomb I linked above...

If you have a dehumidifier you can put it on the back seat and run it over night. The jeep will be bone dry by the morning and no smells. Probably too late for that now, but for the next time. The dehumidifier gets all the water, even stuff in the dash, behind panels, everything.

I’d remove the seats and carpet.
Wash the carpet and let it dry out in the sun before installing back in. It’s fairly easy to remove the carpet and seats. The seats can be cleaned with a dry clean upholstery foam
to remove any mildew and smell.
Once everything is cleaned and dry you can reinstall your carpet and interior.

Purchase some Desiccant bags to leave under the driver and passenger seats to soak up any moisture in the future and also get some Bamboo charcoal air purifying bags to leave in the Jeep.

This should help take car of any future smells without masking it with scents.

Cheap hooker smell; reminds of a time I was working a construction site in a seedy area. Middle of the day a car pulls up across the street, hooker gets out. Walks over to a puddle near the curb, squats down and splashes some water in her cha cha.
If your car smells like that must have smelt, I feel for you.

Some great advice here in the thread. To summarize and prioritize:

- Pull the carpet. Dry insulation side up. You may also vacuum first with a WetVac.
- You may also shampoo, steam, or use a carpet extractor to
- Clean the seats with an interior cleaner/leather cleaner (if leather)
- Clean the plastics.
- Used compressed air to blow out tight areas, under trim, etc... To make certain no water is hiding

For odor elimination, the suggestiin of an Ozone Machine Generator would be the best. If you want to try something cheaper, or don't want to rent/buy, then use a CiO2 odor eliminator. Adam's makes one that I have personally used. It works very well, but does leave the leftover chlorine smell. Both of these options require downtime of the vehicle.

I throw one of those fridge air cleaners from arm and hammer in a rear cup holder. They are quite effective. Also give it a good shampoo after it rains in the open cab.

Get your interior shampoo and dried. I used a Citrus Magic Odor Absorber under the seats and I spray Ozium Odor Neutralizer spray on seats and carpet.

This has 100% worked for me. The odor absorbers are for closets or closed spaces.

I would be extremely surprised if it didnt work. It has worked for me. Some people also use coffee grinds to absorb scent.
