Chip shortage is finally affecting Gladiator production

So glad I got mine when I did. I was so on the fence about not purchasing when I did and just waiting to have a special order built. But luckily I had found mine with every option I wanted had I had it built, minus the spray in bed liner which wasnt a deciding factor on waiting.

Kind of glad anyways cause now I'm going with Line X for that anyways.

Hopefully you guys waiting can get yours sooner than later. GL.

No email yet. Ordered 7/12 BW JTRD w/ front cam, painted fenders, black hardtop, LEDS(I asked after ordering to be removed, not sure if it went through), AUX, Cold WX, Tow, and GG.

On Monday I'll email Grupton to see if there's any update for me. Fingers crossed, I'm good.

Anyone with a diesel get the email yet?

I ordered a diesel rubicon with Gupton on 7/26 and haven’t received an email yet thankfully. Maybe since the diesel drivetrain is so new they ordered so many more chips for it for the first productions of it and don’t have a shortage of them? Just wishful thinking I guess. So far no issues that I’ve heard for my build as of yet, but it’s still early in the process other than having a VIN and d status.

I just emailed Daniel with Gupton on my Mojave ordered 2 weeks ago.

I sent this:

"Hey Daniel,

I hate to bug you and I’m sure you’re getting a lot of emails as of yesterday with the chatter about the JT production halt. (https://www.detroitnews.com/story/b...ge-hits-jeep-gladiator-production/5422071001/)

Wondering if we are still on track for my build of 8-10 weeks?"

He replied:

"It is certainly true that the consumer knows more than the dealer because we honestly haven't even gotten news like that from the manufacturer so I guess we will see what happens but I'm hoping no news on my end is good news and we just keep our fingers crossed!"

They’ll say anything to keep you from getting your deposit back and going elsewhere

Because Gecko is a limited color they are only running for a few months. If they are halting production very few might even get made. And they may not extend the run because of the production halt. I was saying that more if you had ordered Gecko and really wanted it.

This is a very confusing situation.
I ordered 6/26
Dealer told me 2 weeks ago I was in D1 status with an ETA of August 3rd.
Got the dreaded Email yesterday stating a 10/7 delivery.
Talked with dealer before I got email on same day and he stated the ETA was still August 3rd on his end.
WTF

Daniel does more than enough volume in sales, I don’t think he needs my purchase to stay in business lol. I can’t see any reason for him to lie about anything.

I would agree, especially when these are circumstances out of his control. I would have to imagine there is little communication to the dealers before things like this happen with shutdowns.

Although the FCA should communicate with the dealers regarding an upcoming shutdown, they probably don’t to avoid mass chaos among dealers.

Just wanted to add my status. I ordered a jt rubicon diesel on 7/5. I had a vin 2 days later. They said all parts available and scheduled to mfg. I got the email yesterday that said 11/1. That was shocking. Anyway I asked my dealer and he said his system shows shipping on 8/5. So I don’t know what to think. 11/1 is completely ridiculous. Almost to the level of my bronco order lol.
