This is a black box/ delta S Item for the manufacturing plant.

Definetly report it to the dealer so a field report will get filed. It will make it back to the plant and they will hopefully level their shit up.

The axles are delivered complete from the Dana/Spicer supplier. Yes, it needs to be corrected, but it’s a problem with the supplier, not the Jeep assembly plant.

Check the inside of your wheel as well. Looks like it was gouged quite a bit from the caliper rubbing against it. I had this happen on the right front of my 1997 Land Cruiser a few years ago while exiting the interstate.
Happened to my buddys JKU a few weeks back. Completely shredded the inside of his wheel.
It got gouged up but it’s only cosmetic and no one will ever see it unless I take the wheels off. What concerns me is making sure the caliper and the rotors themselves are ok and that nothing was damaged. I’ll feel better having a professional look it over. I’ve slept at holiday inns but I’m no mechanic…

Seems like you had a great day.

Fun on the trails, and disaster was adverted.

Double bonus!

Can you zip tie up the rear out of the way, borrowing the bolt with a piece of wood between the pads so you don’t lose pressure when braking? This happened on our 1k Dave Ramsey car years ago and the above got me to a shop.

That's good - and many stores do, but the point is most people go in and "buy a bolt" and never think beyond "will it fit the hole".
Not all hardware stores or home centers carry anything other than 5.
You should see some of the half-assed, ghettorizing done to motorcycles by the owners. Would not ride one to the junk yard.

Huh, we have a Fastenal store in our shop, that's an interesting option. It was more difficult to find the bolt ONLINE than I expected!

AutoZone noped me, O'Reilly's had a generic parts kit I would have the store order, Napa online says they have them: https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/UP_82517 at my local Napa stores, but as noted they are not open on Sunday.

Fastenal might have them

Does anyone know the torque specs for that bolt? Also the auto parts did t have them listed for the Gladiator somthey looked up the same part for the JK. It looks like a slightly different bolt than the one brianinca posted.

Try LKQ or another junk yard chain.

The JL front brake caliper adapter bolt torque spec is 148 ft/lbs.

You aren't likely to find this exact Jeep part number available anywhere but the dealer, and JK parts are likely smaller in diameter. If the dealer isn't readily available with one, someone may have to remove the same bolt and identify the diameter/thread pitch/length. Once positively identified, a suitable replacement can be purchased from most hardware stores (unless you're somewhere like the middle of nowhere Iowa- no offense ShadowsPapa).

My buddy manages the local Big O Tire. He’s already ordered it for me. I should have it by lunchtime. Once I get it I’ll put It on the truck then drive it over there so they can go over it and make sure everything is tightened down correctly. Dealership won’t even look at it without an appointment.
