Getting ready to order a 2022 when the ordering banks open up. I have built more Gladiator scenarios on the Jeep builder than I care to count. I noticed when building a diesel, the Hardtop Headliner by Mopar would change the diesel back to the 3.6 gas. I thought, oh well, no big deal, I will just have the dealer add it when I place my final order. Well I had my dealer do a build sheet today.... and guess what ... he was unable to add the headliner... he said it was not available on the diesel model ? SO NO FACTORY HARDTOP HEADLINER by Mopar for the DIESEL !!!

Any other Diesel owners run into this ?

Thoughts on if you really need them ? Do they make a $555.00 difference ?

What other options for aftermarket headliners would you suggest ?

I've seen these from Invictus Off Road and they are pretty cool, made in USA too ! https://www.invictusoffroad.com/products/jeep-jt-jl-molle-headliner

I didnt notice, but then again the headliner was not high on my list of boxes to check. Besides, that would only muffle the awesome sound coming from the 3.0 oil burner.

good luck on your order!

Nope I got mine. But the dealership said it was cheaper for them to order it and put it in themselves. I did have it on my build sheet. It never changed it to a gasser.

I noticed this too when building it our on the website, however from my reading not many folks are happy with it vs the aftermarket. I'll be going that route.

Maybe its a good thing / blessing in disguise if thats the case. Any ideas on a good aftermarket alternative ?

Hotheadz is a forum sponsor and many would say they outperform the factory option.

Possibly my geographical area ? Different area different trim ? Every build I did, it changed. I had two dealers, from different states do a dealer build sheet and neither where able to add it.

Hotheads seems to be popular as has already been mentioned, from the reviews I’ve seen it is a lot thicker and has better adhesion when done correctly over the OEM.

I'll second HotHead's. I was very skeptical at first, but living in central Texas I only went 3 weeks into the summer before I say it's worth a shot. I makes a big difference! It's not nearly as hot when I initially get in, and the ac maintains the temperature much better. I can't say I have an opinion on it vs the factory option as I only have used the hot heads, but comparing it to the factory ones I've seen, the hot heads is thicker, and the material does feel nicer. I definitely don't regret the purchase and cannot recommend them enough. Just make sure you follow the directions and install properly. Take your time and do the prep work. I'd also recommend removing the top as there is quite a bit of dust created from the light sanding, and I don't think I'd want that in the vehicle. All in all, install time for me was about 50 minutes.

Thank you for your suggestion, I will look into it .
These look great, they appear to be a better option than factory. Now just have to wait for the 22's to be available.

Thank you, I will most definitely be looking into these. Do you have any experience with putting velcro patches on the headliner ? I was curious if they would stick and/or be removable without damaging the headliner ?
