here is my solution to the bikini top straps pulling loose. If I felt comfortable sewing the straps around them I would have just done that, but I opted instead to cram the plastic strips through the slot and then trim them once I was confident it would work.

This is what I bought. I tucked two washers underneath to allow room for the straps.
I think Velcro would be fine on the straps, eliminating the need for the buckles. But I like the buckles honestly.

GPCA Tie-Down D-Ring/D-Plate Buckle for Wrangler JL JK YJ LJ TJ CJ Sport Sahara Rubicon Unlimited 4 Door/ 2DR, (6 Pack Tie-Down D-Plate) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074N8TBK...abc_R5PVW4HSX92Q1AD0V3ZB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

The best part is I can just leave them attached all summer and not have to keep track of the little buckles when not in use

Very neat I am gonna make some brackets of my own I think so I don’t need to use the window buckles though…. We are in the middle of harvest though so once I get some free time I’ll start on them, that is a nice option though thank you for sharing!

Also, the 'man bun' may not be loved by all but it looks a heck of a lot better than a roll on top of the windshield. JMO of course.
Uh huh.

You’re right. That giant bundle of metal and fabric bunched up a solid foot above the back roll bar is so much more appealing than a nice tight little roll of fabric above the window…

Well it was too wet in the fields so got to go home early, if I woulda made these templates yesterday, I coulda had these made today… oh well here’s my thoughts, going to use 1/8” steel and make these brackets and take the strapping and buckles for the safari mode and put them through these loops, gonna use a plas cutter to cut these out then heat and bend to contour the lip on cab

Those should work great! Plus, if you poke them through the back curtain you can eliminate the issue of pulling the strip out when tightening the buckle.

I've struggled to find a "buckle" or some sort of retaining item that works better than the buckle the included with the top, but I'm sure something exists. The old-school D-Rings (like a helmet has) would be perfect, but require the ability to sew that webbing and have the stitches withstand weather.

That’s the plan use it with the window and not use the ones on window

One additional thing I've noticed between the two tops while running windowless/bimini style. The Suntop does a better job keeping rain off the backs of the rear seat while driving like this. When running the factory like this they get soaked.

Just got email saying I should soon get payment email and have one on the way. Thanks for all the reviews and info. Question for those who’ve installed - I have a JTop shade that I keep on under the hard top and when topless to give some shade to my young son in the back. It attaches by buckled straps that wrap around the roll bar. Pics of the Suntop and install pics / videos look like there may be enough of a gap between the brackets and roll bar to keep the JTop sunshade on underneath. Anyone have any thoughts or pics that may help? Just trying to think of any last minute details before pulling the trigger. Thanks all.
you can totally keep the shade top on under the Suntop. I do it all the time.

About $380. I still need to install it, but between rain, being busy with work, and away on the weekends, I haven't been able to. Also, I need to figure out where the rubber seals are supposed to go on the frames. Body shop removed them, and then couldn't remember which side they belong.

Will post pics when I get it all sorted out.
Did you get this installed yet? Interested in a few good pics of the tan top.

TIA

You can sew the webbing by hand with with a large needle and use dental floss as the thread. I had limiting straps on a Cherokee front suspension sewed this way and they help up well. Look at how webbing is typically sewn, A box with an X in the middle.
