The Sirius that manages the vehicle as far as remote unlock/lock, remote start, etc. is nothing to do with the monthly radio fee. It's the same company - but it's a different subscription.Well I have the remote start via the fob. My Sirius XM just expired. Not paying that much a month for a radio I can listen to for free.
If you let the radio subscription expire all you lose is the listening - as long as you keep the other subscription active. If you let that one expire you can still listen to Sirius XM radio if you keep that subscription active.
But the FOB thing is a good point because I keep it in a HOLSTER clipped onto me any time I'm out with my vehicle. No way I can leave it in the cab or in the bed of the truck. Can't lose it unless I get lost (which is actually entirely possible)
No need to reach into a pocket, no chance of laying it on the dash or in the console or a cup holder.
And as my wife found out, you can't possibly lock these things with the fob in the cabin.......... she couldn't figure out why pushing the door handle button on her Grand Cherokee wouldn't lock the doors. When she got home she explained her locks were acting up. I asked her where her fob was - Her response - "oooh, ok, it's in my jacket pocket and I took it off and laid it in the back seat..........."
THAT is why you were unable to lock the doors....
