This has been more than frustrating. I am three weeks into trying to mount my light bar. This isn't a lightbar problem, rather the mounting brackets.
I ordered my lightbar kit complete with mounting bracket, wiring harness, and lightbar from Quadratech. Right off the bat, I realized, unless there was a majic invocation, or my brain is failing me, these mounts wouldn't work. I tried though.
I'll start with part numbers, and pictures:
Quadratec J5 LED Light Bar with Windshield Mounting Brackets for 18-21 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT
They have a video for the install, but the video is for an older Wrangler with a different Cowl. The cowl and angle of the windshield appear to tbe the problem with this bracket.
Here is a link to the install instructions
I can get the windshield hinge connected and the bottom holes IF I don't use the OEM cowl. Which would be silly.
Here are pictures showing the problem:
I want to be certain to state that Quadratec has been as helpfuil as they can be, they upgraded me to a different brand, other than their own. These arrived in two days, and I was pretty certain they weren't going to fit, just looking at them. I tried it anyway. (I prefer Quadaratec's mounts, these RoadArmor I belive are intended to replace the factor Cowl.)
I don't know what vehicle they are made for, but certainly not a Gladiator.
If you don't use the OEM cowl, (The instructions don't explicity state which way to go, but I assume you don't use the factory cowl) They bolt in perfectly.
But what you are left with doesn't look anything like the picture on their site: (Here)
Instead, you get this mess:
Their instructions, and pictures though weak, are good enough IF the brackets fit.
Has anyone else experienced difficulty getting their windshield lightbar mounted, or do you see something I am overlooking?
Attached are the instructions for mounting this lightbar mount from RoadArmor.
(Page 3 is the only actual instructions)
If you have mounts that work, please send pictures of the cowl area, and a link to purchase the mounts, if you recommend them.
Thanks Folks
