Hello!! I’m buying an RC 2.5” lift for my 21’ Willys Sport. It has the stock wheels which are 17X7.5. I’d like to get a 35” tire for them and not have to use spacers or trim plastic. Is this possible? Has anyone done this before? I went to two tire shops and both had different answers so I thought I’d ask the pros on here. Thanks for any help!!!

Not sure how the slightly more narrow axles affect the fitment, but nitto and toyo both make 11.50 tires and kenda makes 10.50 wide tires. As far as trimming it's just removing a removable air dam. I don't the dam comes on 21 MY. Mine didn't.

Depending on the width of the tire you go with, the tires can rub frame or lower control arms.

Anything 315 70 17 or 18 or 35 12.5 17 or 18 will rub on the lower control arms without wheel spacers. If you go with a 11.5 or 10.5 tire then you will be ok. Two of my buddies had the issue on their Overland and Willy's and had to buy wheel spacers or new wheels. Only at full lock will it rub but it will be enough to mess with a u turn.

I felt the same way about the spacers but if it eliminates rubbing figured what the heck, I'm running a 315/17 and 2" Mopar lift with the 1.5 inch wheel spacers and love it

I did it. No other modifications, no lift, no spacers, nothing. The ToyoTires 35x11.5 on stock wheels. On a Willy's sport and it hasn't rubbed, doesn't have any issues at least on public roads. Haven't really flogged it off road on these tires yet. Only down side from my point of view is that the wheel wells look a little crowded, but that's it.
