Little Delighted (scratch that: not Dissapointed) in Quadratec

Been shopping this bumper and skid plate combo for a while. Not in a super hurry, but like any other customer, I would like to receive my goods in a timely fashion, so stock and ability to ship was one of my deciding criteria.

Well finally had the funds and the timing was right and Quadratec showd in bold big green letters thwy had the pieces in stock and could probably have them shipped in a couple days. I have seen lower prices but with no ship date so I pulled the trigger.

I promptly got an email saying one or both pieces may not be in stock and will be subject to drop shipping schedule of the supplier.

This is pretty disappointing and a little misleading.

And yet Redline Tuning clearly said those hood props were out of stock and would not ship before a date I can't recall now but I do remember thinking - ok, I'll see them after 1-1-22
They are on my truck already.
Diode Dynamics even over Christmas shipped my SS3 fog lights - they arrived early this past week and are installed already.
I'd rather it be done like Redline Tuning where they say it won't be there until after the first of the year - and be surprised with a package in the mail.
They should take lessons from Scotty - the dilithium crystals are fused, cap'n, repairs will take at least 2 days (2 hours later, warp drive is running at full capacity)
Under-promise, over-deliver.

I completely agree. I have dealt with Diode Dynamics and like you said they are conservative and then do better. Give me a timeline with a thread of truth in it. Shoot tell me I need to call, I did that with several other parts distrutors, I am still capable of a phone call, but no we just straight up published incorrect information.

They used to be better. I’d like to say it is pandemic related, by my experience is the same going back 5+ years now.

While I have generally had a positive experience with Quadratec this is part of the reason I’ve ordered multiple times from Northridge. When they say it’s in stock, it really is. They ship things out right away too.

Just a little bit of info for you. Small companies here in the States that manufacture heavy parts (bumpers, sliders, vehicle armor) keep a low on hand inventory. Usually it's made for order. These same companies ADVERTISE on the reseller's site and it is all drop shipped from the manufacturer.
By ordering from a reseller(Qtech, NR4x4, 4WP....) you are saving the shipping cost but you will be farther down the list than somebody who orders direct from manufacturer.

So in that sense, you need to weigh the need versus the cost. If you NEED it NOW, pay the $250 shipping charge and order direct. If you WANT it but at least expensive, then use a reseller.


Now, this doesn't excuse Qtec from their BS way of listing something in stock when they KNOW it isn't and never will be in their inventory.

Hang in there. In the past month I ordered a steer smarts adjustable track bar, a Fox steering stabilizer, and a set of black rhino wheels, all of which were on backorder. Got everything but the wheels in a reasonable timeframe consistent with that “expected to ship” timeframe. Just waiting on the wheels, which said 15 January.

Yeah, I am like 30 miles as the crow flies from Quadratec and they have come to disappointment me in the last couple of years when they say "in stock" but then you order and find out after the fact it is a drop shipment that goes out of stock and then back order.

Northridge 4x4 gets more of my business now than Quadratec because when Northridge says something is in stock, it really is and I get a shipping confirmation within 24 hours from them.

I've ordered from them three times. Twice for little stuff and the order came right in. Just recently ordered the stealth split light bar and it very clearly said it was out of stock until at least 20 Jan on the description page.

Well,,, and thats my dissapointment. If they are out and back ordered, like most sellers, then I would of probably made different choices, like ordering from a local source, or the company directly.
