90 pound Catahoula that does a bit of hesitating up, not down. The tube doors help and I can easily unhook the strap to have it swing out further although her fat ass hasn't hit it yet. Not sure if the regular doors would pull the harness if you have it but the strap and rod can be left unattached and the harness disconnected, just remember which door it is and warn anyone getting in there that it won't stop swinging out until it hits the front door. Made a flying save when I took my doors off as the wind thought it'd get cheeky with me. :whew:

Nose coffee award. I know that look. Vince does the same.

I'm having the same issue with my German Shepherd. First time jumping in, he smacked into the door pretty hard. We ended up getting a dog ramp (he's also an older dog) and that has helped. Might be worth a try.
Curious what ramp you tried and if you had to unbolt the door check to make it fit. The ramp I used in my Tacoma is at least 6" too wide for the door opening, and the stairs I just bought won't fit without at least removing the check and strap.

my wife got this Ramp and it comes up to rock rail. I angle it slightly since the rear door opening angle is awful. Took some tries but the dog learned to use it without issue.

Does anyone happen to know What is the maximum opening width for the gladiator rear door? I am trying to figure out a fridge slide option for my goose gear seat delete.

With or without the catch or electrical connector installed? As you can see from the post above yours, the door can open all of the way and lay against the front door.

Just the standard opening width from the factory. Without adding any extensions.
