Been doing tons of research and have narrowed it down to Ridge Grapplers and Baja Boss AT for tires. Going with 37/12.5:size. However I can’t decide between the two. I can’t find any negatives on the Bajas. Found few that mention wet performance isn’t that great with the Nittos even though it seems that they are one of the best selling tires. Both are definitely on the heavier side at almost 80lbs each. Any thoughts?

Can’t help with the nitto, but I’ve had no complaints on the Mt. They are oddly quiet for their tread pattern and for us snow folk, they handle excellent. I’ve been very pleased and would buy them again.

I haven't run the BB but have the RG on my G550 4X4. I'm buying another set of wheels for it and going to try the recon grappler this time which I've heard great things.

I really like the Baja Boss, but mostly for a different reason than everyone else. I like them because they can be had in the rare but extremely desirable(to me) size of 255/85R17. If I could get an m/t tire in that size of one similar that would be ideal for me.

I am leaning towards the Boss AT as it comes with the 3pmsf winter tire designation. I live in Atlantic Canda where the ground is covered in snow and ice 4 months of the year. The 3pmsf is a must in my climate. I also think they will perform a little better offroad compared to the Ridge Grappler based on the tread design.

Do you know any place with the 255/85R17 in stock? I'm looking for a set of 5 for my JKR.

I checked with Discount Tire the other day and they said MT is telling them they are at least 3 months out, and none of their secondary suppliers have any either.

As far as I know, everyone is sold out, though it appears they are projecting mid April for delivery on them.

I had the 37x12.5 Ridge Grapplers on my JK for 60k miles. They were great in everything but mud and rain. They just get caked in mud... But over rocks they were great. In the rain, they were ok. You could easily break the rear end out when taking a right turn. But it wasn't anything too terrible. It was fine for the 60k miles I had on them before I sold the Jeep. BTW, they were great in the snow as well.

However, this time around I went with 37x12.5 Cooper STT Pros. I was looking for something a bit more aggressive.

Lol damn. Sounds like I’ll be either running a 2” lift and 33’s or 33’s and no lift until I can buy tires later this year. That’s just insane!

I have also narrowed my search down to these two tires...in 35s. Probably going to have to go with the Ridge Grapplers due to lack of supply for the Bajas....I am really getting down to end of life for the current tires...don't think I can wait til May/June which is earliest ive been told by local Discount Tire. My concern is living in Florida and hearing the Ridge Grapplers do not do well on we roads.

Ridge Grspplers for me. Currently have them on 2 different Jeep’s, 37” and 33”. Minimal weight to balance, quiet on tge road and smooth riding. Solid off road. Great looks.
