I wasn’t sure if mine felt “broke”or if I was thinking too hard but I ended up having it replaced anyways.

When I left in a 2021 loaner with the new box it right away felt like a much better truck. Tighter, no dead zone, no wander.

got my truck back the next day and WOW. I was blown away at how much better quality the truck as a whole feels now driving

Your sources: “Trust me bro”
Obviously you need to check your sources, people had real issues not everyone, but a good bit did. There plenty of videos where people posted about how bad their JT was driving and I can tell you mine drives basic the same as it did on the stock tires as it does on the 37's as far as how it drives. It may ride a little worse, but riding and driving are two different things. Running 37's isn't gonna make your JT feel like it's uncontrollably to steer unless you have loose steering components or a bad steering box. That was the issue and fix for some on here the replacement of the steering box, if you need source material use your finger and search this site or the internet, plenty of source material there

Mine was really bad. To the point that I didn’t like driving it on the hwy because it didn’t feel safe. It felt dangerous on windy days or in construction zones with uneven pavement. Night and day difference after. I enjoy taking it on road trips now.

I have a 2020 with almost 50k miles and I think my steering is OK. Myjeep doesn't have any recalls open. I would rather have a new steering box after issues with my tj.

The last thing I need is source material. I’ve been watching people coming from IFS cars and trucks to a jeep and complain about steering since 2018 when I got my JL. Try driving a YJ with leaf springs. And tell me how that drives. And yes running 37’s (adding 100lbs unsprung weight) on a stock set up with light weight steering components is going to give you bad steering. Most people leave out the fact that caster is off or the tires they choose are super heavy mud tires.

I hate this narcissist argument. Because it didn’t happen to you, it didn’t happen and it’s other people’s arrogance.

This is my 4th SFA Jeep, and my stock steering gear was by far the worst. It was super sketchy.

Been dealing with it since 2018? Lol ok. I’ve been driving SFA Jeeps for decades. There are many on here who have been driving them a lot longer than me. Just stop. You look more and more like a jackass with every post.

While you are in part correct that some folks who have never driven a solid axle vehicle will complain of poor handling in a Jeep, the fact is that Chrysler themselves recognized there was an issue with the steering boxes in the JT and JL. So much so that they issued a service bulletin for it:
Jeep Gladiator who is on original oem aluminum steering box? 8457BFAF-1596-4ECD-8777-ACC198FE0470

Now, anyone with any type of sense knows that NO car company is going to replace parts FOR FREE unless there is a substantial issue. Just because yours didn’t have it, or it feels like “how a Jeep drives” to you, doesn’t mean it didn’t exist.

You put that a lot more tactfully than I did.
