I don’t know if this is the best place for my question but it seems like an engine issue. In the past month or so I’ve noticed when I’m cruising down the road and my rpm sitting at 1,500ish, my 3.6L feels like it’s “stumbling”. It’s very subtle and it’s not to the point where I can tell the dealer that there is a real problem. It feels like it’s not getting enough fuel but seems to not be there in higher rpms. I have no mods, no check engine light on, and 25,000 miles. I’m curious if others have noticed this or if it’s just in my mind.

Yep, there is another thread on this too. I’ll see if I can locate it.

No that thread isn't the same, I don't think.

If you are talking what I think you are, listen closely and you may hear a very light valve chattery noise. My experience was it only happens while cruising flat and level at around 1500-1600 RPM. I can't tell you what it was, but when I added the supercharger, Dave was able to make it go away with tuning so my guess is you may be right about the fueling thing.

It would be interesting to see what the dealership says, but I hate to suggest taking it in when my guess is they will claim you are crazy, or tell you it is a Jeep thing.

I’m positive there’s another thread that talks about this same issue. I’ve definitely read about it on here somewhere because I’ve noticed on my JT too. I’m not overly concerned about though, so I won’t be taking it into the dealer. It’s pretty low rpm, so I’m not experiencing it often.

I read through the other thread and it sounded like it was more abrupt at Lower gears while it was shifting. What im experiencing is at high gears (7-8) and consistent 1,500 rpm at a constant speed, not shifting.
its not a major issue so far, I was just concerned if it was the beginning of something more severe.

Seems to be just something in the mapping. Mt folks notice it more because your at would normally shift before it hits these conditions, but it seems widespread enough that I think it's just the way it is. You're probably stuck with it unless you tune. I'm not going to, after a lot of thought. I'll just deal with it.

I’m in the same boat. It’s not that bad, just starting noticing it and I have had my JT for 2 years.

It’s a hole in the oem tune. I did not experience it with my JK, but I have experienced in my 18 JLR and in my 21 JT. It was definitely more noticeable with my 18 JLR since it was a manual.

A couple of times, not recently, I was cruising at a steady speed, not fast, maybe 40-45 in our neighborhood and noticed the vehicle sort of "surge". It wasn't a stumble as a stumble is when you go to accelerate and it pauses before taking off. In my case it was a slight surge, you could feel it increase, decrease, increase, decrease just slightly, then it went away.

So to those trying to describe - be careful:
A stumble is a hesitation. In the old days of the carburetor this was a lean situation caused by the accelerator pump setting or wear, or timing. It's when you push the gas and it hesitates, stumbles before carrying on.
A surge is where you are at a steady speed or nearly steady and you can feel it pull forward, let up, pull forward, let up and so on.

So is it a stumble like it's hesitant to go when you use the reigns,
or is it going, slowing, going, slowing - a surge.
