Hate to get rid of it, but I found a brand new 2020 Civic Si without any markup on it so I got that and will just buy an older 2 door wrangler for fun. I want to say that of all the forums I've been on, y'all are great, most have an awesome sense of humor and are helpful and it's been a lot of fun reading through some of the threads that go on forever for no apparent reason. I'll come back and lurk here and there and I'll sell some stuff I tore off the Gladiator before I got rid of it,. like the sunder for hardtops, cable you need to program these trucks, etc.

Hate to see you go. Understandable trade though, in this day and time. Just bought my wife a 2021 Civic EX, technically a used car but very little mileage on it, gets great gas mileage and as I'm driving into work now a couple of times a week, I may end up driving her car and she will drive the Gladiator to her work, which is less than a mile away. I hate to do that, but it would make the most sense when it comes to the wallet.

Except the SI requires premium. Op might just want to go fast(er). Nothing wrong with that either. The SI is a slick shifting, slick handling sleeper of a car. I dig it. I looked at a type r when I bought the JT, but the markup was too much. I think it was $8500 over the already high msrp.

Yeah they did have an 8K markup on a 22 Si, I got the 20 straight up though and I think it looks better since it's a coupe, may end up with some lot rot issues. I've had a few Si's, over the years you can run regular in the later model years, it just down tunes itself and won't apply as much boost but of course that's not where the fun is.

My wife told me that if they make me an offer I can't refuse on my truck this coming week (dealership contacted us twice trying to buy our Jeeps - even tried to buy her Grand Cherokee) that I should check into seeing what I can do.
But - I'd go right back into a Gladiator.
I don't need to drive enough to make it worth shooting for better mpg. I can just stay home more often.

you didn’t trade 1 to 1 I assume. The si’s are in abundance in California. Local dealer only asking 500 over Msrp and has 7 in stock. You gladiator is worth much more than a direct trade for a si. Perhaps I’m reading this wrong

Sorry to see ya go!

But very glad you were in a position to make a move that made you happy. And you’ll probably stay in the jeep community, once you find a 2 door jeep.
Thanks, happy would be having enough money to hang on to the gladiator and move back out west, guess part of it was having a Jeep in the Boston area as opposed to Colorado, California, Nevada and Utah (I'm from out west). Of course even a Civic Si is much more fun on the twisty roads to be found out there. But yes I'm not done with Jeep, already shopping for a wrangler, just having a Jeep as a daily driver isn't the best even with low gas prices. Need to be able to break it and still drive to work the next day. I've had a few Jeeps, I'm sure I'll get another, I miss this JKRR the most.

Nah, not a direct trade, I pocketed money for sure. I bought the gladiator at a deep discount back when people weren't buying cars anyway. Plus I got a date with the sales woman on the way out. My first thought was to go off roading but I kinda f'd that option up. So drinks it is lol.

This is why I keep a good gas mileage car at the house, normally 3 cars, one good on gas, one like the JT and another one fast so to satisfy the need for speed. Enjoy your Honda, I had a 2006 SI that was a great car but I couldn't get ride of my JT for one.I get it though, With gas as high as it is it's almost like making a extra car payment just to drive.

yeah I just dropped $60 on gas a day ago. I’m already at half a tank. Smiles per gallon really high right now.

What really sucks is I just filled mine up the night before I traded it in. They said not to worry, I'll give you a full tank, I was like how about two? On the other hand the Si recommends premium for best performance, but it will detune and run on regular if you want, I guess that's fine for long highway trips.
