As much as i love my Gladiator, i always felt like it needed something more. So i picked up the Sports rack from Rugged Ridge, which was just released about a month ago. (i've been waiting for them to release for over a year)

Looks amazing, can you take a close up of how it mounts, particularly where it comes up from the inside to the bed railsbased on the instuctions it looks like i might be able to actually have this and my access loredo cover as the loredo mounts to the inside of the bed rails and this seems to just have a thin plate up from it

thank you for posting this, I have been looking at this extensively too. Couple in the weeds questions:
- does the bar have ports to run lighting wite internally? If not then what was your solution?
- how hard are the cross bars to remove and are they solid when installed?
- the shots you posted are awesome but can you post some real world shots too of different angles, maybe side and front? Also detail of the fit between bars and bed to see gaps, etc would help.

great post, great rig.

These are great pics!

I've had mine for a couple of weeks and I really like it. I'm running two pairs of KC Daylighters. The wiring has been a bit more tedious than I remember from the last time I wired a sport bar about 30 years ago. There are no holes in the Rugged Ridge Sport Rack. I drilled four holes across the underside of the first tube and ran the wires down the side. But the tubes are closed on the ends. I grappled with this for a long time and finally decided to punch a hole in the side of the tube and run a wire loom between the cab and bed. I'm very interested in how the you ran the wires. Hope to finally finish wiring mine tomorrow.

As for running with a tonneau cover, I have been grappling with that for weeks as well. I've mocked up some brackets but the biggest problem with a typical soft rollup tonneau is the tailgate end. The curved ends of the Sports Rack interferes with the ability to pivot the end of the tonneau up and down during opening and closing. I can't seem to make it work with my Bestop tonneau.

I'm seriously considering the Truck Covers USA American cover. But still researching. At $2,500+, I would hate to get it and not be able to use it!
