You would think with the multiple phone calls, the multiple emails, they might actually need some used vehicles because the lots, even their used lots, are pretty empty. Likely because the shortage of new on the lot vehicles means they aren't getting anything traded in. But yes, you mention it I think back to years ago, the ads on TV "even if you have to drag it in, we want your car". Memory failing LOLIt's always been that way. Always. But, people don't seem to realize this and end up at the dealership thinking that the dealer really wants their vehicle.
Anyhow, too bad they don't want to deal on your trade. When I did a factory order for my Mojave, I did all the pricing negotiation without ever mentioning a trade. After that was done, I said "I'll stop by with my trade-in". They agreed to the trade-in value, put it on the paperwork, we all signed it, and then they placed the factory order. I asked about any restriction on miles while waiting for the Mojave to arrive and they told me "we don't care, drive it".
You have far better negotiating skills obviously. Your ideas are sound.
