My 2021 EcoDiesel has been at the shop waiting on a DEF tank for over 6 weeks. The part is on backorder with NO EXPECTED DELIVERY date in sight. I opened a case with Jeep, and it falls under the lemon law; however, even that takes 6 weeks to complete. This just sucks... Does anyone know where I can get a DEF tank from a wrecked Gladiator? Or anyone have any ideas as to what I can do?

Substitute a bed mounted tank in the interim, run a hose down to the pump

I would push the dealer and manufacture to apply lemon law. Here is South Carolina they have choice to replace or refund but they have to do something at this point.

What prompts the need to replace a tank on a new vehicle? It’s just a tank.

I'm in the same boat as you. I either want a new Gladiator or my money back. I've taken it in 3 times since January of this year and they can't get right.

Did your tank rupture? It’s more of a supply chain thing than a Jeep incompetence thing right now.

Sorry OP. I would ask for a loaner in the meantime. Jeep corporate should be able to arrange that if the dealer can’t.

It's what in the tank too. There is other pieces in the tank that needs replaced too. It's all part of the tank assy.

Well that is a bummer....I swear these manufactures just make everything more complicated than it needs to be nowadays. Stories like this along with the whole axle replacement for the locker sensor are going to make me question the the ability to fix this thing long term.

Had a critter chew through a plastic hose on the fuel tank of my GC. To replace the hose, i would have to buy the whole tank assy. That would have been over $900.00. A piece of fuel line and 2 hose clamps fixed it.

Curious if OP ever came back. Curious why he actually needed a new tank.

Sorry, Guys. I am still here as the OP. The Jeep is currently still at the shop, with no ideas as to when the replacement tank will be available. They say the tank has sensors inside, which you can't replace without a whole new tank. It's crazy, I'm extremely frustrated and really considering buying a new Tundra at this point. Please someone talk me out of it. I have owned a Jeep since 1991, but I am at my witts end.

Free2roam, yea they are involved. They said they were going to buy it back, however, god only knows how long that process takes. And to be honest, I like the Jeep and just want the dam thing fixed., How about stopping manufacturing new ones and using those parts to make current customers whole, then pick back up when parts are more accessible.

Felt the same way when mine was in the shop with the fuel pump down for 45 days.
