So my truck bed lights I thought would turn on when I open the tailgate, much like when you open a door, but they don't. The only turn on if I hit the key fob unlock which is a hassle if I am loading at night.

Is there a way to change this behavior? If not any easy DIY solutions, key word easy? :)

Thanks!

I agree that it would be REALLY nice if there was a switch in the bed to turn the bed lights off and on (like my former F-150).

The button on the dash turns it on
That only enables it to come on when a door is opened.

When I need the bed light, I either leave a door open, or only partly latched.

I agree with you, certainly an inconvenience, albeit a minor one. I didn't really even notice til I added a tonneau. But if they are programmed to turn on when you open the door, why not the tailgate too? If you hit lock or unlock, it does all 5. Maybe there is way to do it with the tazer, otherwise popping a door open or hitting the unlock key are the quickest ways I can think of

I don't think there's a door sensor for the tailgate. That's probably why. The truck can't ever tell if it's open or closed. Just like the posts about accidentally having it fall down while driving, the truck doesn't alert you because there's nothing there to tell it the tailgate is open.
