Guys...I just had a breakthrough idea on diesel oil temps. The factory heat exchanger uses coolant from the radiator to cool the oil through a small heat exchanger. This works fine but the issue is coolant temps can hit 220-240. So not much cooling going on.
It would be pretty simple to toss two coolant lines, a pump and throw a small radiator somewhere with a fan. This would cool the oil much easier and to a greater degree not limited by the coolant temperature and thermal regulation of that.
It would be safer too as a failure of a line is for the oil cooler and you keep oil pressure.
thoughts?
