Thanks, just saw your email and responded. Appreciate that you reached out.I believe he was using my tune. I sent an email.
If that is the case I may be pulling my tunes.
As always I need to get a better understanding of all that has happened.
I did not think this was possible with one of my tunes, see that it plainly is, is very unsettling.
No on the small pulley, just the regular one. It's a 21.Man, that really sucks. Hate to hear it! Couple more questions if ya don't mind...
Were you running small pulley tune? What year is yours?
And did you do the install?
Looking at the holes in the block, I'm guessing a rod, or rods, broke? Certainly would not be due to install mishap however.
People just like tuning. Folks have been hotrodding since prohibition. I don't think he's expecting Mopar warranty to cover it. But if it was the tune that came with the supercharger, Magnusson (supercharger manufacturer) would cover it under their powertrain warranty. Unfortunately, it isn't, but, sometimes, you gotta pay to play. I don't want to pay, so I'm not playing, but I completely understand it. I've tuned several cars in the past.Totally confused on this was this the gas or Diesel engine and I see something about a refund is that in the tune or for a new engine also these Jeep engines are designed to run a certain way I can’t understand why people try to get more out of them than the engine has just like people putting the throttle commander on the Jeep because they say it’s sluggish my gladiator moves right on down the road running 37 inch tires it is the gladiator rubicon model okay before I posted this I see it was the gas engine I guess now you can get a Hemi I don’t think you’re warranty is going to cover that good luck
Naw... go with the Hurricane392 time…
Nope, not expecting any coverage. I knew the risks. Ultimately I should just be happy that it happened close to home and so soon, too, instead of building a false sense of confidence in it.People just like tuning. Well he mentioned 91 octane... and talking about pulleysTotally confused on this was this the gas or Diesel engine and I see something about a refund is that in the tune or for a new engine also these Jeep engines are designed to run a certain way I can’t understand why people try to get more out of them than the engine has just like people putting the throttle commander on the Jeep because they say it’s sluggish my gladiator moves right on down the road running 37 inch tires it is the gladiator rubicon model okay before I posted this I see it was the gas engine I guess now you can get a Hemi I don’t think you’re warranty is going to cover that good luck
Whatever route you choose to go, good luck. Like @Terry said, If they make a crate hurricane, that'd be cool if you tune it, with the twin turbos. The 392 is rock solid reliable though, and proven.Nope, not expecting any coverage. I knew the risks. Initial post was definitely vague, but of course it was a bit out of disappointment. It's why I posted in this particular forum, though.Well he mentioned 91 octane... and talking about pulleys
.'. It's a supercharged V6.
Yea, unfortunately I need a solution sooner than later. I doubt a Hurricane swap will be available any time soon.Whatever route you choose to go, good luck. I knew this was a possibility when I started tuning, and quite frankly why it took me so long to even offer stuff. With the way things were going I got to a point I felt confident enough I had a better solution than anywhere else.Nope, not expecting any coverage. I knew the risks. Don't be too hard on yourself Dave. WE ALL know the risks taken when we go and do things like this to our rigs! Whose to say it wasn't a faulty rod from the factory?! I have seen brand new stock engines throw rods with less than 1k miles on them.I knew this was a possibility when I started tuning, and quite frankly why it took me so long to even offer stuff. To be honest I am not a business guy and I was never in this to make money. I am a family guy with two kids and a day job, and my wife was totally freaked when I told her I was gonna do this startup, just for this very reason. She said she knew I was good at what I do but things happen, and what then. Well she is right. I probably should have more stuff in place to protect all involved, but like I said, I just acted this paying part so I could justify the time.
I try to be as honest and transparent with people as possible. I do my best to respond quickly to any issues, and my hope is my reputation will speak for itself.
Now that this has happened, I can tell you it has really given me pause. Ryan seems to be really reasonable about this, but there are many who wouldn't and not sure I could weather that storm.
