Added Paddle Shifters.
First off, thanks to fellow Member RHARR.
I asked a few questions before ordering the parts and rharr was quick to reply and added some great suggestions. VERY HELPFUL.
Took about 5 days for the parts to arrive.
Some comments for those wanting to tackle this mod.
1) Take several pictures of the current wiring harness before taking anything apart.
This saved me A LOT of time with this Rubik Cube harness.
You'll carefully remove the old one, and within seconds you'll forget how to correctly install the new one. YUP!
2) DISCONNECT all the power to the JT. Just disconnecting the main battery won't do it.
3) Be careful with the electrical clips on the airbag. They will break if you over stress them.
4) The horn wire/clip was tough to disconnect for some reason! Smile.
Again, take your time.
5) The paddles fit perfectly. I didn't have to trim anything on the wheel. Maybe 22's are somehow a little different.
6) I used JSCAN and within half an hour the system recognized the Paddles.
7) While driving, if you move the shifter to Manual mode, you'll see the gear selected by the paddles on the display. You can still shift if you don't select M mode with the Paddles, but the Display will stay only show D. I wonder what a 392 actually shows if you just engage the paddle without moving the shift lever.? Humm
I don't think these will be used a lot, but I have used the manual shift mode on occasion.
They are definitely cool looking. $180 total with shipping. Great addition.
