This is an enthusiast forum, not a customer service portal for Jeep.

Maybe you could search for junk or salvage yards to see if you could get one from a totaled jt?

FCA and Mopar are searching for a supplier for the Reman Automatic 8 speed Trans. I did check with my dealer and 10 dealerships across the US are showing stock in inventory; Perhaps your dealership has contacted them and these are being held for their customers and not for sale. There are several other non-factory companies that re-manufacture; e.g. Certified Transmissions company. Your dealership parts department could contact Certified. https://www.certifiedtransmission.com/finder/

Your title was a bit hard to read through and understand what happened. Fill us in to what happened with the transmission.
OP has not been back since he posted. Probably the typical one post (insert problem here) pump and dump to never be seen again.

Well since I'll be here for a minute, allow me to attempt a thread hijacking.

Anyone know where I can get a frame? I am being told that the dealership has no idea when it will get off backorder.

Personally, I'm having a hard time figuring this out. Does Jeep have a stockpile of frames that aren't already allotted for production? A certain number of spares per run? Do they have a few rejects that they're willing to pass off on me? Will they have to specially fabricate one just for me?

For the record I don't want a new frame, I'd much prefer a new Gladiator. I'm also wondering how long they'll "look" before deciding on a different course of action. I don't think there are salvage frames, as that would be one of the parts most likely to be damaged on a salvaged vehicle.

Any ideas?

Is this an accident or warranty repair? Try one of the salvage places, like LKQ. If it is warranty, look into the Lemon Laws.

Accident unfortunately. I was thinking it would be impossible to find a salvaged frame that wasn't damaged, but I guess it might be worth a shot. I just wish there was more transparency than "we don't know".

To some of this, I'd say - join the crowd out there. You aren't special or unique. Hundreds, if not thousands, of vehicle owners around the world are going through the same thing. Back in March, one dealer told me they had over 2 dozen vehicles (Ram trucks, Dodge cars, Jeeps, whatever) sitting since late December/early January waiting for parts.
That's 2 to 3 months - and not just Jeep.
You see similar with other lines of trucks and cars. I get it - your vehicle is down for the count, no target date, no light at end of tunnel and it sucks. But to think it's only you and you demand a solution and demand it now - you are just one tiny grain of sand in the whole situation. We've got to get over ourselves on this stuff.
I'm sure I'll be as PO'd and vocal as the next guy if it happens to me - so I'm saying this while I have my wits and logic at hand and under control.
Everyone with a broken vehicle waiting for parts and no date set for repairs is like "I demand it be fixed and fix it NOW and pay me back for my pain and troubles".
Sorry, you are one of thousands in the world.
Imagine places where vehicles aren't made and every single part has to be imported - and go through customs and shipping.
Imagine businesses and fleet customers relying on a truck for making money.
We are spoiled.
This is what our I want it all and I want it now society and attitudes have done for us.
Too much money, too little thinking of the bigger picture.
My cousin Ralph is a farmer. Two years ago he paid $400/ton for anhydrous. Last year it was something like $1,000/ton. This year - it was $1,400/ton and yet the price he gets hasn't risen to compensate. He can't get parts to keep his equipment going.
So, which is really more important?

Who here thinks it's only them?

Who here thinks their situation is unique?

Anyone?

I'm just looking for information. This is a forum, that's all we can provide to each other. I'm not here to compete with how bad your cousin has it.

Just look at the anger, and the people who have demanded, yes, that word, that dealers take parts off new vehicles to fix theirs. You can see it in their posts.........

I also never mentioned you - I never quoted you - this is about the first post and the general anger out there in many posts in these forums.
I was referring mostly to the OP and certain others who have gotten really mad and yelling out for jeepcares to get them parts and that Jeep should stop making trucks until theirs is fixed and so on.
Yes, such posts are here. You can find them if you look.
There's been people insisting that dealers can and SHOULD take everything from steering gears to valve covers off new vehicles so theirs can be fixed.

Anyone could see you were trying to find a part - not complaining - so your post doesn't even fit.

Just like I popped in commenting on the general anger about parts supplies, you came in asking about finding a part. Don't see how you figured my post applied to you. It didn't.

Asking how to find or obtain a part isn't a complaint nor did you appear to make it one.

BTW - a rolled vehicle, one in a flood, may yield a good frame.
