Throttle body recall for 21-22 gladiators

I am scheduled to have mine flashed on July 15th. Thinking I am going to cancel that until this bricking business gets sorted.
With the Star Case bulletin out stating the Radio fuse pull for recovery of the PCM, I decided to keep the appointment this morning. Everything went well and I was in and out in 30 minutes with no issue. I verified with Jscan that the PCM software part number revision had rolled from "AB" to "AD" version.

How do you see the version
Attached is the screen grab I took before the update. Listed the PCM as ECU Part Number 8574272AB. After the update, the ECU Part Number 8574272AD was shown and matches what was stated on the service receipt. I did not bother getting the screen grab for the after update.

Yeah that is not ECU part number, that is the OS. These new OS's are not defined well in HP, as jeep moved things around AGAIN!!!!!!

I have a 22 as well, maybe the updated version for that ecu is AB

My 2021 JTRD went into limp mode on the highway in the middle of nowhere in the mountains of Colorado. Thank goodness I was able to get a friend to come and get me with a flatbed trailer. Would have cost a $1000 just to get a tow if I could find one. Cell service in the mountains is hit and miss. Not a single car or the State Patrol even stopped to see if we needed assistance.
Got Jeep dropped off at dealership and it may be a week before I know what the issue is. I hope that they do the recall for the HPFP that was scheduled for Aug 1.

Has anybody seen the throttle body recall for 21-22 gladiators. It says it effects the throttle position sensor and can cause a check engine light that will cap your speed at 25. Has anybody ever had this experience? I’ve never seen it

Oh yes

I had my gladiator a few days. I was leaving the house one day and when I got on the freeway I went to pass another vehicle and when I hit the accelerator I got an instant loss of power and a check engine light.

Luckily I have a good relationship with my dealership and called them immediately and drove it straight in. I checked the Connect app on my phone and I had an urgent service indicator notification that said service throttle body sensor.

It was pretty simple at the dealership because it was May 2022 and it was sort of the height of that chip shortage so they actually switched out the entire throttle body.

Since then it has never been an issue and I love my gladiator. The dealership actually comped me six more months of Jeep Wave and they did a pretty good job of keeping in touch with me to make sure there were no further issues.

I have a almost brand new '23 3.6 TB if someone needs it.
I would gladly take it off your hands

Saturday mine kicked a P0223 code "Electronic Throttle Control" as the CEL. No issues before the code kicked as we were leaving town (swapped to CR-V for the trip). It will be at the dealer on Thursday for full diagnosis and repair under warranty.

Quick question, would you pull security extension cables before taking it in? I do not run a Tazer and only use it for OBD Jscan connection via bluetooth.

I run extension cables so taking out the black and orange security bypass cable is a piece of cake. Sometimes the SWG is checked during their work, I prefer it to not be there. With the extensions it's a 15 second job to remove the thick bypass cable.
Others may leave it........... i remove it most of the time unless I believe I may need JSCAN (for upping the idle speed for winching or jump starting something) because it does bypass the firewall.

Add my JT to the list that had a defective throttle body. The build date is May 19, 2021. The dealer is locating one now under warranty for me with 30,700 miles on the clock.
