Like a small air compressor I’m assuming?air compressor for when I go on river tubing floats, plugging in my camper while boon docking to recharge its battery, I've tried using a drill and it was an epic fail not enough power. but charging phones while Parked or tailgating is convenient
yea, I couldn't get too much pressure, compressor would stop pumping after a bit, but I was inflating inner tubes for floating down a river while drinking not anything criticalLike a small air compressor I’m assuming?
I really wish I had one - while camping I could recharge my hearing aids, recharge portable lights, recharge my battery pack I use to power other stuff. Otherwise I have to plug an adapter into my the 12v outlet in my jump pack to charge my hearing aids over night because the truck's USB ports keep shutting off after 30 minutes or so.Many use it for recharging the portable power pack that the fridge is connected to.
You didn't get the 8.4" screen?I really wish I had one - while camping I could recharge my hearing aids, recharge portable lights, recharge my battery pack I use to power other stuff. You don't have the in vehicle inverter in the back? I don't have the in bed one. But I thought we all had this one in the back seat?I really wish I had one - while camping I could recharge my hearing aids, recharge portable lights, recharge my battery pack I use to power other stuff. Yes, but the outlet in the bed only comes with the package that has the trail rails, and I think maybe one other package. It's not standard with the 8.4" radio. You didn't get the 8.4" screen?
Yes, but that's not in the bed of the truck...... and as I recall, that also shuts off after 30 minutes. You don't have the in vehicle inverter in the back? I don't have the in bed one. But I thought we all had this one in the back seat?

I just have the 7 inch screen, so maybe it is standard now (or was in February 2021). I thought all gladiators had them. Just wondering why you chose to use a 12v outlet instead. Maybe the back seat one shuts off after 30 minutes too, I don't know.Yes, but that's not in the bed of the truck...... and as I recall, that also shuts off after 30 minutes.
The topic "what have you used the 400w plug in the bed for......." I don't have one, wish I did.
And I wish I could decide when ports go dead, not a set 30 minutes or whatever it is.
But I'm sure they had to program that stuff to the lowest common denominator otherwise people would plug in the max stuff and then bitch and blame Jeep when it didn't start in the morning because their stuff drained the battery.
When you say "I thought we all had one in the back seat........" who to you mean "we all"? It's not standard. It's only with the larger radio, and in 2019, that was definitely not a standard.
I know, but you still have the inverter and can plug in the same stuff. The trail rail package also comes with the locking underseat storage.Yes, but the outlet in the bed only comes with the package that has the trail rails, and I think maybe one other package. You only get the outlet in the console with that radio.
To get the one in the bed is another big spend - and I didn't want the pricey trail rail and other off-road stuff when I already had my own rails I made up and the other stuff.
It wasn't standard with the 7", only on the 8.4" package.I just have the 7 inch screen, so maybe it is standard now (or was in February 2021).
Anyone who gets the inverter, gets an outlet on the back of the console. If the Trail Rail package is added, an outlet is included in the bed with an on/off switch in the cab. The single 400 watt inverter powers both outlets. The inverter only works when the ignition is on. The USB ports will stay on, after the ignition is off, if there are active devices drawing power. Otherwise, they also turn off with the ignition.I just have the 7 inch screen, so maybe it is standard now (or was in February 2021). I thought all gladiators had them.
