To me, from a marketing standpoint,
the idea is about as brilliant as "new cola".
Drop the single most important styling cue

Agree 100%...... I may switch out my 2025 grill for the earlier one if it's a direct fit.

Still failing to see your point. The grille has simply evolved such as it did from JK to JL. Still holds 7 slots and classic round headlights.

I think he's saying the 7 slot grille loses its definition and disappears into the black trim around it. It is very busy.

To me the grill does look better body color with the exception of a white truck i always liked the look of a black grill and flares on a white jeep.

I agree. I am looking at a slight color shift and that’s why I posed the question. Not sure on it yet but my test piece will be here on Wednesday and I’ll be able to tell a little better if I like the effect or not.

To your point, it's a personal preference thing. I'm not really a huge fan of the body colored tops and fenders, the black gives a good contrast in certain colors where it isn't so great in others. For instance: Juice, Punkin and Nacho look silly to me with black tops but matching is hot.

Then again, mine is white with *drumroll* black fenders and top.

Well its been tested on this forum in the past from removing the grill to removing foam and everything else you can think of.. no change. What does work is using a Tazar and turning on the fan, I'm 7500lbs+ 3.73's and 38's live at the base of the Sierras. 6-8* grades everywhere and never get a de-rate even on 100* days. never a issue with trans or water temps. What is needed is a engine oil cooler not a little bypass one a full flow min AN8-10.

How is this one for the classic look. It looks like it will need a little fitting to work on the 24

gladiator. Maybe a splash of paint as well.

I believe you are incorrect. The newer grill is more open allowing better air flow. And removing the grill completely would allow maximum air flow.

I am changing mine to the newer version because I have a Diesel and they can benefit from the increased air flow.

I remember a thread on this very same subject when the new grill came out. I could be wrong but I remember the consensus was it doesn’t do anything to improve the cooling.

The new updated grill did make a difference and reduced engine temps. Here's a long thread from 2023. OP updated the first post with the temperature improvements based on his testing.
