If I was still working and commuting, the idea of an EV would be kind of appealing. Retired and driving around the US, not so much. But hey, the Recon could tow a decent size generator along . . .;)
Get a roof rack mount the generator on top and charge as ya go 😂

Uhm, it's gonna be less in 2025, there is a sign the hype is dead.

Tesla and world-wide. There's two major issues with your argument right there. LOL
Ya think China hasn't jumped in and made up some of the slack?
Yes, the sales over-all have RISEN world-wide. It's not dead or dropping.
Did you see the quotes I posted and you counter with a SINGLE auto maker and world-wide numbers, totally leaving out the reasons Teslas sales are dropping - uh, competition. They didn't have any real competition until about 2 or 3 years ago.

Nice try, though.

The trend is still up.

I see the use in cities but for long commutes they lack and they lack in other areas. Mountains and more rural areas.. There are Very few around here. Very few.

As with in all of the other threads on these things - no one is suggesting they are ideal, good for everyone, or great for cross-country trips.
Interesting enough - charging stations are popping up all over the place around here - grocery stores and other places are installing them. And it's not hard to find an EV of any make around here now, be it a GM brand, Ford or even a Jeep 4xe.
And honestly, that sort of surprises me, but then the number of people commuting the perfect distance to work or shopping here - it sort of makes sense - just don't try to leave Iowa!

There was a guy I met from Wyoming that worked for a company who had him traveling all over the east coast installing EV charging stations. But He hardly ever talked about doing ine in thd Midwest or my State ..it was new England and Virginia etc...

Completely unappealing. Looks like a Bronco.
More like the the illegitimate offspring from a Bronco sport and a Hummer EV

We, again, drive our EV no less than 100 miles, up to 175 miles, per day, 5 days a week, and never charge anywhere but in the driveway.

Which I know, for the purposes of this thread, wouldn't even get you guys to the mailbox, but is somehow still 2-3x more than the average daily commute.

I enjoy my Chevy Bolt - it's a fantastic transportation appliance, really good at that job. By putting my commute miles on it, I've kept 30,000 miles of needless wear & tear off my Jeep, and also kept the Jeep from being stolen or stripped where I have to park it in the ghetto for work. Besides the occasional free shopping center charging station, my Bolt has never been plugged in anywhere but at home. And with more than enough solar panels, my cost to "fuel" it has been zero. But I would never want the hassle of taking a >200 mile road trip with it.

The people who complain about road trips tend to be the same ones who won't drive to the next town for anything.

In my small town, most of the residents will simply go without or pay more for whatever than drive 45 minutes each way to the larger cities of Grand Rapids or Lansing.

In one of these EV threads there was a guy going on about his f150 having 600 miles of range? Nobody is driving 600 straight miles without a stop. You'd have to be dehydrated as hell and have an iron ass. Our AZ property is 600 miles from our house. 6-10 times a year we make that drive (which means 12-20 600 mile drives) and never once have I not had to pee by the time the Jeep needed gas... and they both have a 240 mile range at freeway speeds. Every trip is about the same. 2x20+ minute gas/restroom/ beverage/dog park stops and one 40ish minute similar stop plus food. Absolutely doable in any EV with a 300 mile range. The recons 250 mile range is a little low for my use but our use is on the much more frequent long drives than 99% of people. I'd have to add a few more panels to our off grid property, but every one of our normal fuel stops have EV chargers. Funny Stan mentioned long commutes, how damn long are people driving to work? 125+ miles each way? You don't need a commuter you need to move or find a new job.
