Hey Wolfbox!
Our Gladiator is named “Calypso II” … my family watches the beloved Australian Blue Heeler cartoon, ‘Bluey,’and many of the characters speak to us personally. The teacher of the main characters’ name is Calypso and she’s quite brilliant at teaching the kids little life lessons while also encouraging friendship and play. Since this Jeep is my wife’s (though I drive it all the time as it’s our only car right now), we adopted the name for it.
My wife is a teacher and I absolutely see her as the same personality type as Calypso in the classroom; she adjusts the curriculum to the level needed for each individual student, she truly cares for each child’s needs, and is always there for them if they’re struggling or need someone to listen. She’s taught kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and fourth grade…currently teaching second for the 3rd time at a 3rd school (military life, we move A LOT).
Why the “II?” Our first Tuscadero JLU Willys was called Calypso for the same reasons as above. We loved it, but truly wanted a Gladiator…just didn’t think we could swing it back in 2022 when we bought that Jeep. Fast forward to 2024 when Jeep announced Tuscadero on the JTs, we had to ‘jump!’ We were fortunate to be in a better fiscal position to order this JTW and it was delivered to our nearby base in Germany!
Since taking delivery, we used this Jeep in Europe to visit London, several large cities of the Netherlands and Belgium, and all over Germany. Now back in the states, I have been able to start our overlanding build with an Alu-Cab topper and portable fridge…working towards a fully kitted bed for our family travels.
Because of this topper, we truly need the Wolfbox G900 Tripro for the rear camera…it’s very difficult to see out back through the OEM rear view mirror.
We’re leaving tomorrow for our family Christmas trip to Arrowhead Lake, California, near Big Bear Lake, and “Calypso II” will surely be filled to the brim with luggage, food, and presents…being proof of concept that having the G900 Tripro would be incredibly useful and is absolutely on our short list of ‘wants’ in the next year (if I don’t win this
)
Thanks for this opportunity, Wolfbox! Goodluck to all.
