35s used to be big and were $200.

My first regear was $1k.
Exactly. Those days are long gone. And 4” leaf spring and shackle lifts are super simple. Much more involved with coils, control arms, etc. and more cost.

I suppose it just depends on what you're doing with your rig... because we did coils, control arms, etc on those old day vehicles as well. My 87 XJ has 2.5" lift coils, 1.5" spacers, Bilstein 5100s with reservoirs, adjustable track bar, sway bar disconnects, ZJ drag link/tie rod ends, WJ steering knuckles, control arms.... etc etc. And that's just on the front! So everything we did 20 years ago, we still do today. So I can't really agree with "those days are long gone" I think the only thing that's long gone is those prices unfortunately.

My statement “those days are long gone” was referring to 5k for lift, tires, and regear.

And my statement was referring to what you want to do with your rig. I can promise you, l can do lift, wheels, tires and regear for 5k right now. :like:

I’m curious what a $5k lift/wheels/tires/gears package consists of.

Gears are 2k, mopar lift is 1200. That leaves 1800 for wheels and tires. Look at all these recent posts of people getting deals on Walmart tires for 600 bucks. Now you’ve got 1200 for wheels alone. If you can’t make that happen…

The lift now is $2K plus shipping.

Exactly. I want to see that itemized list. I’m guessing they have a hookup in the industry, allowing them to pay far less than most of us. I could be wrong, but my lift is by no means the Cadillac, meaning Evo or metal cloak or similar. There is simply no way to get shocks, springs, steering components, track bars, control arms, tires, and a regear for 5k. The only way would be to corner-cut the project and skip steering, LCA’s, and track bars, or buy used parts. I still don’t see the math adding up. And choosing junky tires isn’t a solution for many people. Most people want good tires on the road as well. I’m happy to eat crow, so show me the parts list @Camaroboi13.

I’m just curious why you think you NEED all that stuff. As stated before (multiple times now) a Mopar lift is 1200 bucks. I don’t think I need to itemize that as you can do your own research or ask your neighbor up the street, he probably has it. Pretty sure we’re all in agreement with regear being 2k. I drive a diesel, I wouldn’t know. So if we do the math, 1200+2000= 3200. I checked with my calculator, twice. You can buy 35s or 37s anywhere for under a thousand bucks. Go to the Walmart thread and look at what people are paying for them over there. So let’s do the math again. 1200+2000+1000= 4200. I checked three times this time. You can easily buy decent wheels for 200 bucks a pop, and utilize whatever you want for spare as nobody cares since it’s under the bed anyways. Four wheels at 200 bucks a wheel is 800 bucks. But do yourself a favor and shop around first, I bought 4xE wheels for 300 bucks because I’m not going to spend a grand on wheels I’m just going to trash. Makes no sense to me, but if you absolutely must have the most expensive stuff money can buy, this post ain’t for you anyways.
Almost forgot
Lift 1200
Gears 2000
Tires 800-1000
Wheels 0-800
I’m not checking on a calculator this time. See you at the top of the hill.

The mopar lift is far from complete. I absolutely don’t buy the fanciest stuff. Please try not to make assumptions about me. I run stock wheels by the way. I have a JKS lift with fox 2.0 shocks. No frills. But to make it steer well and not break on the trails, I smartly upgraded the track bars, drag link, and tie rod. I used Steersmarts stuff, which is good quality, but not expensive. I got my 5 37’s on sale for 300 per tire, which is a great deal for quality tires. It’s true that Walmart runs sales. I was on that maxis thread. Even buying 5 super cheap 37’s for $700, here’s my list.

basic lift with basic middle of the road shocks -$1,800
Steering upgrades - Approx $500
Regear - $2,000 to 2,500
Tires at Walmart fire sale pricing - $700
Two adjustable track bars to center the axle after lifting - Approx $600
Adjustable or longer fixed length control arms - Approximately $300 - $1200

Even at the low ends of the ranges, that’s $5,900. And I didn’t include wheels or wheel spacers to fix rubbing issues with larger tires. If people don’t want cheap tires, add at least $700 for decent quality. At least $200 for spacers if using factory wheels like the 4xE wheels you used.

Do they ship?
If they did you’d be the first to know, but unfortunately due to the ridiculous weight and size of the unnecessary crate they don’t want to ship.

Walmart tires and knuckle swaps are great mods for the money.
Thank you. Also, you can take wheels off the list, as I just went back to the original post, and it says aftermarket wheels have already been purchased. So one less thing to worry about. And if you want to get technical, the guy said lift, tires, stabilizer, and maybe gears down the road. Didn't say anything about track bar this or control arm that or whatever you THINK you need for a "complete lift", dude just wants his ride up high with some big tires.

Personally, I'd go spacer lift with some 37s, buy some walmart tires, drop 2k for the regear and tell the old lady it cost 9800 bucks. Then take your 6 grand to the strip club or the casino and put it all on black

So nothing setup nicely like your XJ and deals on everything.

Doesn't seem very realistic to me.
