Update: First of all, it's really cold outside and in my garage!

Secondly, it is the season when our family converges on the family home, so time is scarce for any wrenching.

I got the ECM registered and shipped to HP Tuners, so that's a milestone in itself. A short year ago, that was not a possibility, but now it paves the way to supercharging my Jeep.

I spend a goodly amount of time reviewing the install process, especially the YouTube video posted by Epic Off-Road. The Ginger guides you through installing the Ripp kit, then drives it afterward.

Looks like it is going to be fun!

You could have brought it up to my heated shop................ plenty of light, warmth, infrared heat warms the floor, tools and vehicle as you work.
No lift, though, sorry. Someday, I hope.............

I've been tearing the motor down all afternoon.

Most everything came off relatively easily. well at least to this point.

The injectors gave me some concern when I pried them upward after removing the fuel rail system. Getting to this point, nothing unusual was found. The original oil cooler housing had no sign of leaking, but then again, why should it? Currently, I have 19,000 miles on the JT, so most things still look new.

Just a minor cleanup, and these parts will be ready for reinstallation.

At this point, I prepped the new aluminum oil filter housing and oil cooler. Both of these are new, fresh out of the box.

I dropped the O-rings into place, gave the screws a spot of blue locktite, and bolted the new oil cooler onto the filter housing.

I date-marked the part so I'd have a photo record of when the thing was installed

And, photographed the oil filter for the same reason. I prefer these Wix filters to most others.

This fits the Baxter Performance oil filter adapter I am using.

I am having one heck of a time removing the stock oil filter housing. There is a rubber hose clamped to the supply manifold and the oil cooler. With the narrow spacing between the heads and the various hoses, pipes, and wiring harnesses, it is next to impossible to get pliers in there to squeeze that clamp. Furthermore, it is a three-handed job, and I was born with only two. After wrestling with it for over 30 minutes, I threw in the towel and called it a night. If that hose/clamp had released, the new oil filter assembly would have been installed, as that was the goal for today.

They make clamp tools for that where the jaws are on the end of a flexible line and the plier part works remote of it.

Yeah, like that. Fleet Farm, Amazon, Northern Tool and so on.
With what you are doing, I think it's worth the few bucks investment. .
Want to see you/this project succeed.

You can roll the filter housing and twist the hose and usually get to the clamp with some long needle nose pliers once it is in a better position,
