Coilover all the way!!!!! (I’m assuming he meant for his leg)
Actually, real coilovers, as I explore what I may want to do next to the suspension.

If possible, to keep this thread from getting super long and full of fluff, I'd like to ask folks to keep comments focused on topics pertinent to this thread.
I have kept all of this JT's mods posted in order so that it reads logically from purchase to the present. I used to own a discussion forum, and all too often, you'd have a great read and the next thing you know, people are chatting it up, and the poster loses all interest and takes a hike.

So, although I appreciate guy talk as much as the next person, could we keep the discussion focused

I know, I know, two pages from now everyone will have forgotten, and someone will be discussing their favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe...

Coilovers wear out to then your left with bounce bounce bounce when the shock wears out .been a minute since i had a set so maybe kings or top brand like that would be good for the suspension.

There are plenty of quality coilovers that don’t do that. A coilover is basically a strut with more adjustability and even OEM quality struts are good for 100k miles or more.

The door bolts are a pain, they’re installed then painted over, need a manual impact driver. Worked when I replaced all my hinges for new paint.

Good idea, never thought of that.
#50 Torx bits, but got home too late to give them a try
I'll take a few minutes tomorrow to see if I can budge those bolts

But

More importantly, the replacement SC just showed up!

Every shock used hard off road should be rebuilt/replaced every 20-40k miles. Doesn't matter if it's a coilover or stock or sealed aftermarket or rebuildable quality aftermarket. Just because people run them well past the point of needing rebuilt doesn't mean they last that long. I've pulled some shocks off that were doing as much damping as if you just removed them entirely. And yet the owner thought it rode fine.

The new supercharger is installed, and the engine is running. This one sounds a little better, but it still has that loose-lash gear-kickback sound.
I found the source of the whistle, the blow-off valve.
I was surprised by how much pressure I felt at the up-pipe from the intercooler. There is a hole for the manifold temp sensor, which I had removed for the test run. Air was blowing out of that hole at an idle!
I still have to bolt the bumper and winch back on to be roadworthy, but at the moment I am deciding if I am happy with all that noise this supercharger makes.

So, here is the new one, same as the old one...

Someone from this forum contacted me and suggested I prefill the blower and spin the pulley a bunch before installing it, so I did.

And here it is installed on the motor:

You may note that I changed up the routing of the heater hoses. After having them crowd me at the front of the engine, I moved them behind the blower. I think I like this better.

I wanted to create a record of the cooling fan, which, as you can see, is the 850-watt unit.

The fan is sitting on my next project, which I will tackle as soon as my new knee heals properly

Here it is running just fine. The head unit definitely lets you know it is there. I never thought the thing would be this noisy, but it is. At idle it is making boost, you can feel it flowing out of the up pipe when I pull the temp sensor out. I guess this is what it is going to be. I am hoping it will wear in and quiet down some.

Are you going to send Ripp the video? It still sounds bad, I would expect more of a whine than that sound.

I am going to share the vid, however, that's two in a row with nearly identical sounds. They made the call on switching the last one out, not me.
Dunno, maybe this is normal for this unit. The moment you load it, the sound disappears. I think it comes down to learning to live with the sound or doing something else. If the unit solves for the lack of power issue, and it proves to be reliable, well, I guess I got what I wanted. (Although I did not bargain for the added clatter).

And the whine?? That is a byproduct of a Roots-style blower like the Magnuson, not the axial compressor style I have.
