2022 Blade Door Key!

Hello all. I wanted to buy just the laser cut “blade style” center cut key.
Locksmith could not do it, dealer told me that they have to order, based on VIN of the Jeep!
I have a Bolt hood lock, gas cap lock, hitch lock, and a new cable lock for my E Bike. I just need the blade, dealer said I would need to order the complete key fob!
Anybody have something other than a $250 key fob?

Look at @Threedom . They have alternate key fob cases and part of the solution is to take the blade part of the key and attach it to a key ring piece.

You could have someone mill you one but otherwise they are a controlled asset. Have been for years and all car companies.

Be careful of what some dealers say - I was told by a dealer that a FOB could not be added to a Grand Cherokee I had - said it was factory set and only two fobs were allowed and it was impossible to add my extra fob to my Jeep.
Didn't believe him - I knew better, but instead of insisting, I drove to a lock and safe company and inside of 5 minutes, had extra fobs added.

OP here. I ordered two blanks from key4.com. $8.40 delivered. My locksmith charges $35.00 for the laser cut. Should be good to go. I’ll have a key for my Bolt locks including a bike cable lock.?

Bolt has a program for people that replace their vehicles, and have locks keyed to the previous vehicle, if that helps.

I haven’t used it, but they told me about it. I’m guessing big discount on trade in, or maybe send in for rekey. I’ve got at least 9 things from them, but hopefully I’ll never sell this Jeep before I’m work food.

You can use an SIP 22TE . I measured several with a micrometer. Had one cut for my jeep. Fits just fine and cost $8 to cut .

I have a Bolt a locking cap both keyed to my blade key and i use it as it is in the fob, no issues

That’s the way to go. I have the same blanks as hootbro above and local locksmith cut 4 for $52.
