Lots of 4xe discussion here.

We hashed this out in another thread that I can't find now, but basically the 4xe adds significant weight to an already overweight vehicle. In order to increase payload and towing capacity on a 4xe version of the Gladiator, they would have to increase the GVWR quite a bit, and they already did that to accommodate the EcoDiesel somewhat but if they increase it again it'll be knocking on the door of the Ram 1500 GVWR and I can't see that happening. What is more likely is that you'll see the 4xe version of JT come with a much lower payload and towing rating.

Combine that with fears of future parts availability, cost of repairs, being a guinea pig for a new product, up front cost, etc....and I would say that most consumers will shy away from it. Honestly I don't even know if there'll be a business case to keep the JT 4xe on the market becaust JT sales are already a bit lower than they hoped for.

Would definitely want a 4Xe Gladiator. Was going to go with the 4 door when they came out but wanted the truck part myself.. Best of both worlds if ya ask me..

Your right but I gotta tell ya if I was in the market for a full size and gonna spend 70k I would seriously be considering the Cybertruck. And before last week until looking at the website I wouldn't have been caught dead in a Tesla.
I am still strongly considering a Rivian R1T. My JTRD build after discounts and taxes is $59,516.77. That's awful close to an R1T territory. Meanwhile, I thought the cybertruck was supposed to be kinda cheap ($35k?). I just won't consider it because it's so hideous.

Will they be rolling out new colors for 2022 or are those already announced? I would have ordered a Gator or Gobi EcoDiesel, but since they killed both colors before that engine was available I've held off. Sarge doesn't really trip my trigger, I don't hate it but I don't love it either. I figured I'd wait for the new UConnect and see if they come out with a color I like that doesn't blend in with the masses. Jeep has been dinking around so long with delays and excuses that I've fixed my old Denali to the point it's been reliable as of late (knock on wood). I might hold off on the gladiator and see what else comes to market in the next year or two.

It's crazy that back in the 50's and 60's they would restyle a car every year or few years, let you order basically anything you want (including special paint colors if you knew the right people) and you could have a mediocre job and still afford to buy new. The dealers and the manufacturers were making money then as well. Now 10 year life cycles are the norm, options are limited, and to get the one option you want you need to pay for 5 you don't. You can have any color you want as long as it's black, white, or some shade of gray. Prices are so ridiculous it looks like the auto industry is on track to offer 30 year financing.

The Tesla Cybertruck has a 14,000 lb towing capacity!!!
Yes but it comes with a Tesla Cybertruck... maybe Tesla could take a JT 4xe body and give it Tesla motivation...

The single motor Cybertruck is 35k. The triple motor that hauls 14000 lbs and goes 0-60 mph in 2.9 sec is 70k. I thought was hideous looking too but it's kinda growing on me.

The Cybertruck looks like the disfigured spawn of a DeLorean and an El-Camino.
You are being too kind. I liked the El-Camino.

The Cybertruck looks like dirty cross between a delorean and a subaru SVX...

As long as Punk'n comes back for the 2026 model year I'm good. My 11 year old has already laid claim to my JT in 5 years.:CWL:

Yeah, a V8 and towing mirrors and I'd be first in line to order. Unfortunately I think both of those are unlikely.
Real mirrors, especially if they mount them to the a-pillar would be amazing.

See the new Bronco - Ford figured this out...
Of course the A pillar folds down on the JL and JT so... We still aren't looking behind us with the mirror on the A Pillar. How a about here? The aftermarket has some solutions that utilize this area.

So I'm looking at getting mine ordered finally but feel it's a terrible time because in about 3 months when I'd be looking at doing it there will be new options I'm assuming, so the question comes do I get it ordered and then regret not waiting the extra couple months or do I just wait XD anything actually worth waiting for is what it comes down to I guess. Reason why I'm waiting 3 months is deployed currently but looking at getting it ordered so I'll be able to pick it up once I get back.

Do they typically do good discounts when a new model year becomes available? Might just keep
With my current build options if that's the case

CMM Off-Road makes great side mirrors that mount on the grab handle bolts. Still there if you fold the windshield down!

Can you use them with the doors on?
