We leased a Forester from a dealer in Colorado Springs and they shipped it to us in KC in 2019. I met the driver and signed some paperwork. It was $500 at the time. Since the dealer was around $3k less than anyone in KC it was worth it.

Sport or Sport S? (Power locks? Code 24S on the sticker?) If it's in stock and you want it, maybe so. But there are too many variables to know just from this. Like to me, I read 42.9 and know that's just at or above invoice on a base Rubicon, so.....

It’s in stock in the color I want but I believe it’s a regular sport and comes with the running boards

Do you have a link to the vehicle? We can tell you what it’s listed at vs msrp vs invoice.

So here’s the original window sticker:

https://www.jeep.com/hostd/windowsticker/getWindowStickerPdf.do?vin=1C6HJTAG2LL164440

They are asking like $3500 above what you would have paid on the high end (sticker price) brand new. Invoice on this truck is roughly from my guesstimate $38,000 and you could potentially get it before taxes and fees for about 1% below that at least from a new dealer like Gupton or Peterson. The down side there is the waiting time for your truck to get built and delivered to one of these dealers plus your flight, room and board to pick up and drive back to your part of the woods.

My recommendation would be that if you can wait, order new. However the market is what it is now and if you can’t wait and can live with it, afford it, etc. you will likely still be happy in the end. Call it stimulating the economy.

So the guy will sell it to you for 42K

Sticker is 39. So invoice is probably around 37. (I'm spitballing here, so work with me. )

Gupton will sell it to you for somewhere between 6% and 8% off invoice.

Soo you are talking about an ordered price of $34,040

At 8% off. So you are paying EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!! more than if you order and wait.

That seems like a pretty obvious decision to me.

$43k for a truck with manual windows and locks. I wouldn't do it...

For example, I ordered a fully loaded rubicon diesel and the price came out to be $57,500. With the current $2k incentives, I'm going to be right around $59k out the door.

Challenge, time! Let’s build a similarly optioned Gladiator you can get for under $42,000.
