Can you not trade in at one place and purchase from the other? Have you looked at Vroom/Carvana/Car Max/etc?
the scenario you describe isn’t really a trade. As such, you lose out on the tax benefit that comes along with trading in a vehicle. Which, in Massachusetts anyway, means you only pay sales tax on the difference. Though this tax benefit may vary from state to state.

Technically you could still do a trade as Vroom/Carmax/Etc all sell cars. But it was more to the point of having negotiating power.

This... But my parents are looking for a new vehicle as well. Soooo i will use their grand Cherokee for a trade GC for JT (Jeep on a Jeep), and my parents will trade the ford on the Subaru.

See how that works...

The line isnt down out of choice tho. The line is backed up months in orders, it appears. Seeing as the switchover to MY22 should have happened this summer and production estimates the end of November - - they arent losing any money on orders. They are losing it because of chip/worker shortages. Opening up MY22 doesnt solve that issue.

Opening up MY22 is just going to create a lot of pissed off customers when Dealers tell them 4-8 weeks and it turns into 4 months.
They may be backlogged, but if they stop taking orders, some day down the road the line won't have orders to fill. It's all part of the same system. Every day orders aren't open is a day the line doesn't have vehicles to assemble.

...but FB/IG is down...
Darn. :)

Because they (appear) to be massively delayed in MY21 production. No need to hype up something you know you cant actually build when you are delayed in what you are promised to build.
All speculation but I agree with this. If they're not ready to get MY22 product onto lots then why announce and make every MY21 on a lot harder to sell.

Why is it 1:1? Are you saying they only take orders for exactly one day's worth of production per real-world ordering day??

There aren't any MY21's on the lot lol. Everything is either instantly sold the moment it rolls off the truck or it's a customer factory order.

Jeep just stopped 2021 MY ordering so they can finish up the backlog and announce MY 2022 when the factory is ready to start acceping the new MY orders.

You know it would be fine to start your own thread to discuss your potential purchase & let us get back to brooding over the lack of 2022 info ;)
2022 will be just like 2020... but *better*.

At this point the I think we have to apply Occam's razor. The simplest reason to me is that there are no major changes to announce.
This is where Jeep's MKTG is failing. At least string us along with jokes like...

We got new underwear for 2022! And show pictures of Jeep off-road pucker action.
