I was at my dealer today getting my free oil change and they had no idea about this new Far Out Edition Rubicon. I asked them about the diesel going away and they also had no idea.

Imagine that meeting at corporate.

How many more diesels can we build with leftover inventory?
Maybe 600 if we don't deplete the parts stock.
Let's build 1,000.
Ed, make us up a special badge and Cindy, ask AI for some catchy names that we throw on it to jack the price up a few grand.
Farout was the Earl Grey Diesel concept in 2020 before the release of the EcoDiesel... So yeah... Plausible that AI picked it!

I'm planning on keeping the diesel for a while. All I'm asking from FCA is to perform my pump recall and release the diesel service manual so i can keeps it running ?

We will see how long this takes order placed today- I’m betting October for delivery ??‍♂
For those that are making comments on the fuel pump- it would make sense that the new pumps are being implemented on the assembly line, if the Jeep went through a couple months ago before the parts were available, would need to go back through.

We have 22k miles on our 2022, edt added to every tank and knock on wood it’s been fine, also fine for the 300k miles on tdi’s using the same pump design.

For the price tag? Rubicon diesel with the options we wanted has been around 71-73k out the door for the last year. ??‍♂. This isn’t a sport or a sport s…. Heard of a few unicorn purchases of diesel gladiator rubicons…. Never met anyone outside of off the keyboard who actually paid one of these unicorn $55k unicorn fully loaded gladiators. ?
I wish you could get a fully loaded rubi diesel for 55k. My diesel rubi landed at just under 70k before taxes and bs fees.

The Ecodiesel doesn’t die with the Gladiator. It’s offered as a boat engine. FCA choosing to to offer it in their vehicles has no impact on its overall production.

My bad should have said Jeep/RAM brands of North America is retooling for the new hurricane corporate engine, would not be surprised if it replaces pentastar in next few years on all models. VM motori is owned by Stellantis I’m sure we will see different variants of the 630 most likely in commercial and off road use applications.

I worked on a few VM's in marine applications and there were very few issues to speak of but when it went it took everything with it.

looking forward to buying this for $25, Still can't believe I got my Rubicon diesel for $45k through Gupton when I did.

Had one small def issue that had to get flashed, other than that it's been flawless and my favorite vehicle I've owned.

I think its a terrible idea!! I own 4 eco diesels 2 Jt's 1 Jl and and 1 Ram 1500. From a guy thats bought over 25 new Jeeps there has never been a more capable "out of the box Jeep" in my opinion! They get great fuel mileage torque monsters and reliability unsurpassed for us total we have 350k miles on the ecodiesel not 1 motir issue. I hope they get all the guy's orders filled that are waiting on the ecodiesel before the start production on these

How about delivering ours before offering up new models. Mine was ordered in March and built in May ready to ship and moved to storage for the National stop sale on all diesels. so you cant even ship them today but you can take orders on new ones. Makes total sense to me.
Agreed 100% get the guys there order's before opening up new orders

I love my diesel JL and JT. Really wouldn't want one if it had a gas engine. The torque and fuel economy are a perfect match for these platforms. May not be as reliable as an older Cummins but what is? I have 65K trouble-free miles on the JL. Hate to see them kill the diesel. They will all be electric in a few more years.
We have the first gen Ecodiesel in my wife’s 2014 GC with 113K on it and we love it ! Yes there was a lot of growing pains at first and then the lawsuit with settlement and extended warranty which I think we are still under until next year. We have been keeping our vehicles for about 10 years so next year we will probably replace it but she absolutely loves the GC. The space is just right for us and is very comfortable on longer trips.

I’d love a diesel, but if there’s ever been a V diesel that was any good, I’ve yet to see it.
I’m not a huge diesel guy, but when I have bought them, the vees were always down the list in longevity and up in silly problems.

Not a huge v6 petrol fan come to think of it. Oh for the days of the i6
We've had great luck with the ecodiesels for ourselves and for resale at my dealership. I was skeptical in the early years to becuase I'm a cummins guy and absolutely will not sell duramax trucks because of issues. But the eco is 1 v6 I stand behind

Kind of like an interference motor design. I've tasted that sweet poison before.
