On Saturday, September 7th, my transmission failed with little warning. I heard a sound that I thought at first was the air condition duct work moving but then the Jeep slipped out of gear, revved to 6k RPM and then dropped down into 3rd gear. The check engine light came on and it wouldn't shift up to 4th. I tried putting it in manual but got a flashing "M1" and the manual shift wouldn't up or down shift. I pulled over and shut it off for a few minutes and then started it back up. I counted gears as it shifted and it did the same thing again from 3rd to 4th. The second time it did it, I got a "service transmission" warning. I limped it home in 3rd and discovered there that reverse was gone as well.
I dropped it off at my local dealer on Monday the 9th. I called them on Tuesday at the end of the day and was told that I would need a new transmission and that they had sent in a request for authorization to Stellantis. On Friday the 13th, after not hearing anything from them, I called the dealer again and was told that an entire transmission wasn't needed, but only the PTU. I was told it could take 5 days for authorization, 5 days to get the unit, and a day or two to get it installed. Today (September 17th), I contacted the dealer again and was told that they still had not received authorization. They suggested I call Stellantis customer support which I did. 20 minutes later, I was given a case number and was told that "Joshua" would be in contact with my to discuss this authorization with me. I asked when that would happen and was told "if not today, tomorrow."
So, I have been without my primary means of transportation for 10 days already. I paid an excessive amount of money for this vehicle, that has barely broke 11k miles. No one has any updates, no one has offered to assist with a replacement vehicle to drive, no one seems to have a sense of urgency, no one really seems too concerned.
Anyone had any luck with any other avenues of communication?
