Just purchased a 2024 gladiator. Always wanted a jeep finally got one. I was a cummims tech modding diesel suspension motors etc..took my 04 cummins to 1k hp. For suspension we used carli kits with king shock which were the best.

So i know this is a common ? Ask here. So bare with me.

Was looking at this kit? Is this a good kit/better kit? Can i run 37s and this kit without drive shaft mods regearing/steering etc

its going to be a mainly a DD with light off road use. But i like to overbuild my stuff.

What model and what do you driving do you plan to do to the rig?

If you have a Rubi or a Mojave with high-line fenders and the correct wheel offset, you can run 37's w/o rubbing.

I had a '20JTR and ran Method 17x8s ZERO offset and Gen. Grabber ATxs 37x12.5s with no issues, even disconnecting the front swaybar.

That said, if you have a Rock & Roll rear swaybar, you will stuff the tire into the fender liner.

Driving wise, street machine, you don't need to do anything.
Light off road to less than MAX Flex, no lift needed.

Ideally, a min lift 1-2" will help though, 2.5" is a sweet spot before driveshafts need to be considered.
3.5 & Up, look at a min. into front shaft replacement.

Its a sport. It will be a daily driver plus light off roading. Probably not like u guys going hardcore. But i know from diesel world when u run the carli 2.5 kit with kings 2.5 u can drive thru walmart parking lot at like 40 mph hitting the parking cement stops and it was nice in cab not bad at all.

So i was hoping to keep stock rims for now. Was hoping to run 37 but i guess i might have to run 35s.

wheres the best place to get driveshaft?
this is my gladiator

no, it'll fit. I will also add that the glady V6 is very anemic. so 37s and a lift are gonna make it feel gutless. like 0-60 in 3-5 business days. 100% liveable, but might be offputting to someone use to a TD pulling like a freight train in any gear. I personally can't wait till i can get my Hemi swap done.

you can keep the stock wheels and run 37s if you use a wheel spacer. also the only rear driveshaft i would consider is a Dana Spicer as all others convert to a 1 piece and i wouldn't touch a one piece unless you plan on some serious shit. The front can be from anyone but be aware one you step away from the stock CV joints you'll need your front alignment alot more dial or you gonna get minor vibrations at speed. a mopar 2in lift with a rear driveshaft spacer and some quality bilstein or Foxes and you'll be sitting pretty and can fit a 37 with relative ease

Mel and the crew over at EVO MFG do a great job on pairing King's to their systems. In this case the shocks are speedy but overall a decent system. Good luck!

I have installed a lot of lifts on different jeeps, including using the King Shocks, but for a daily driver, those king shocks are overkill, and a lot of the price of that kit are the king shocks. I have also used 5100 Bilstein and Fox shocks, and the 5100s work just fine for a DD as well as work fine off-road.

I’ve also installed the Rock Krawler X factor 4 link kit on Gladiators and the non-4 link JK 4 door jeeps, and I was going to go with the same kit on my new Gladiator. However, since my Gladiator won’t normally see the same extreme wheeling as my JK, I decided to use the AEV 2.5 Dual Sport lift. It was only about $2,000 and came with the Procal, and except for those expense shocks, is about the same kit as the EVO at less than half the price.

My Gladiator will be the tow vehicle behind our Adventure motorhome (it has 42 inch tires, lockers, Warn winch and other goodies to get us places we shouldn’t go in a motorhome), and I wanted to be able to use factory parts on the Gladiator in case I damage something while on a trip.

I’ve done the Rubicon Trail, most of the hard stuff in Moab and a ton of other trails across the US in my JK for a decade, and I am planning to do the Rubicon Trail at least 1 more time before I’m dead, Dosy Ershim, and will continue to do Moab trails like Poison Spider and Metal Masher, and the Gladiator on 2.5 lift and 37 tires will do just fine with some patience, full belly skids and occasional use of the Warn 12S winch.

Essentially, I have built a rig setup for more extreme trails, but don’t want my Gladiator to be as purpose built for extreme rock crawling. Rather, I want it to be more general use, but still capable to handle the occasional difficult trail.

Something to consider…

I’ve seen this comment about the V6, and don’t understand the perspective. I have 150,000 miles on my JK running with 37 Baja Boss tires, and Iā€˜m still running the 4.10 gears. I occasionally tow my car trailer, and unless someone is towing a trailer frequently, I think the V6 works fine. If you opt for the Automatic, even better.

Full disclosure, my son has a Gladiator, tows his travel trailer often, and got tired of the slow speed up hills, so I swapped his 4.10 gears for 5.38 gears since I have that skill set and equipment.

I’ve also done HEMI swaps in Jeeps in my shop, and while those jeeps were cool, unless I had a towing need, not sure I would go to the expense, even though I can do all the work myself. Quite frankly, there are better towing rigs out there than a Gladiator…
