2024 Gladiator Rubicon 5th hitch installation

Morning, New to the forum, but I am wanting to install a 5th hitch in my gladiator, want to pull a lightweight Scamp 5th.
Anyone had one installed???

Very short bed to be pulling a 5th wheel trailer. I would imagine you will need to have one custom made.

It appears Scamp does design it with these very short beds in mind. That Ranger has a 5' bed as well. It looks like a Scamp (at least the new ones) have an unusual hitch design anyway. It looks like a ball hitch but at 5th wheel height. Scamp sells a hitch for their trailers though I'm not sure what you would need to mount it.

It's going to be custom or piece mealed together.

Extreme terrain has a bunch of them, might be best to talk to their expert and see what they recommend. It's going to be a custom install for sure tho.

I don't know if it helps but I had a Anderson Fifth wheel hitch for my Ram 3500. You would need to add a goose neck ball, but I think it would work for this purpose. Plus it only weighs 38 lbs and easy to take in and out. This way you reduce the weight for the hitch because some are 200-300 lbs.

The thing I liked is it towed my 40" Toy hauler great. I could move it in and out by myself. If you get a turnover gooseneck ball, you don't lose any bed space when not in use.

I don 't know if it will work for you, but definitely something to look at? Good Luck.

Definitely, keep us updated on the outcome. I'd have got the Scamp 5th wheel if I would have had my Comanche on the road in 2010.

No problem. Here's a pic of my Gladiator with the Scamp connected. I had the hitch installed at the Scamp factory in Minnesota. Rides like a dream.
