I'm new to Jeep suspension modifications. I want to move up to 37" wheels and still on a stock suspension after spending a year or so on 35's.. I'm lost in the interwebs information about the stock suspension. Does the Rubicon come with a taller suspension than a sport or Willys? It looks like the additional clearance is the just in the fenders being mounted higher (also commonly noted in the webz).

When I want to order and install my new suspension, am I looking for a 3" suspension to fit my 37's? Will that really provide 3" more inches of suspension clearance or just 1 inch?

Without getting into the weeds on your specific ask (I am sure someone can elaborate on the exact numbers) here is my Rubicon, on 37's, OEM steel wheels, with only the Mopar 2.5" lift for reference. No other suspension mods. I also came from 35's ands stock suspension. Point being, 37's fit fine with less than a 3" lift from factory.

I don't have serious off-road ambitions. I do mostly trail and overloading trips. As long as I don't rub or break my teeth I'm in a good spot.

Thanks for the feedback and your rig looks great!

Yeah, if I am being honest with myself, the most extreme thing this truck sees are weekends on forest service/logging roads. But the tires were cheap, and we have plenty of mud so.....I figured why not?

Lots of people will say you can get better suspension for the money with aftermarket vs the Mopar lift, and I am not saying they are wrong....but I'll never need it, and it drives exactly like it did before the lift as far as I can tell. No complaints here. Plus I like the fancy wooden crates they come in, so there is that.
