I have a 21 diesel High Altitude with 9500 miles on it and it was just towed to dealer. Check engine light came on at the start, but will not move. It would not rev up in N, I could shift to D or R, but would not move. Any ideas? They have had the truck for 4 days and no feedback yet, but that is another issue.

Might be the wiring harness by the exhaust. There is a bracket that it rubs on.

I had a buddy in our club had his auto park go out and it didn't show auto park on the dash but they fixed some sensor and all was good. His was a 21 Rubi diesel i think it had 5k miles

Rusty,

If you get bored, could you take a pic of the spot by the exhaust you are talking about... I would like to double check mine and reinforce it if needed before a failure. Thanks

That’s what I thought, but shouldn’t that be easy to diagnose?
From what I understand yes. The threads I have read with the failure say it happened while they are driving. They lose power and then they have issues, not from a parked stance.

I’m not familiar with diesels in passenger cars and trucks but wonder if there’s any chance it could be a DEF sensor issue. We had a 2016 motorhome with large diesel in it. The DEF sensor went bad and the system started to detune itself over time. It started at 100% for certain number of hours then to 80% and eventually to a max of 5 mph. Not sure if there is the same type of system but wouldn’t hurt to ask.

Personally, I’d like to know as I’m considering a diesel JT myself.

If it runs, not the fuel pump. That failure is usually catastrophic and typically the motor will not run at all.

Nothing to fear... many very happy JTD owners in the wild... any failures are very rare.... forums are just where people tend to gather to vent about them.... GO FOR IT !

It said about 250 miles then it would not restart. I just bought 2 gallons and was going to fill it that night
