My Mojave is 4 months old, with just over 6k. I noticed last night that my phone kept trying to connect to the Jeep, when I was inside the house. This was of course odd, because the Jeep was turned off and locked. I went outside this evening to go down the street with the Jeep, and when I opened the door, all the lights and signals started going on and off. I tried starting, but it would not turn over. I could not get the lights and signals to stop, and could not have the remote relook the car. In a few minutes, everything simply just went dead, with the exception of the side mirror blind side monitoring signals flickering.

Has anyone else heard of this? I have a hard time believing the battery would be toast, with only 6k miles. what to do next? Call Jeep roadside assistance? I live in the country, about 60 minutes from the closest dealer.

Your battery is toast because of the electrical problem, not the other way around.

I would check the fuse box to make sure all the fuses and relays are seated. Beyond that, you have something serious going on and it could be a bad ground, shorted instrument cluster, Power distribution panel or combination of things.

Unless something just reveals itself, I would be getting use to the ide of having it towed to the dealership.

I called Roadside assistance and had the Jeep towed to the nearest dealer, about an hour away. I will report back what the problem was, once they find out.

Yours is not the first case of weak/dying/dead batteries causing all sorts of electrical issues. Do a quick search of this forum and see.

You really should ensure the dealer replaces BOTH batts.

Your batteries could have been weak coming from the factory (again, not an uncommon situation), then with a constant low-current discharge on them (yes, even when the Jeep is dark and locked) and it was just enough to push 'em over the edge.....and deader than Abraham Lincoln.

Just had this happen a couple of weeks ago, except I was at a red light in a busy intersection. The dealership replaced the aux battery and it started but still showed a bunch of codes. They ended up saying it was a bad ā€œfuse boxā€ and they ordered a new one and replaced it. So far so good. That’s the good news. The experience with the dealership was unbelievably bad. I had it towed to the nearest one, which is not the one I normally use. I won’t go into detail. They just made it difficult every step of the way. I will never go back there for anything.

Do you realize that your reply is about 1 1/2 years late? His post was from December 2021.

Last time he was on the forum was 12/9/21. Probably the last jeep he will ever own.
hahaha. No...I do LOVE my Jeep. I haven't been on the forum since, because I have had no issues since this initial one. Jeep paid for the tow to the Dealer, and the dealer replaced both batteries. They had no explanation as to "why" it happened, but since replacing both batteries, it has not happened again. The problem happened around 6k miles and I am now at 26k.
