Looks like what was happening on my 21 JT. I started hearing clicking noises from the front end, noticeable at low speed.

Turns out front axle u-joint bearing cup had lost the retaining clip and was starting to work itself out. Local drive line service shop gave me a couple of clips. I was able to tap the bearing cup back into place. I kept an eye on it after that.

Kinda glad my new JTM has CV joints in the front axles.

Thanks for the comments, do you think the axle shaft is cracked in the second photo, or a casting line?

That looks like a crack. I suspect you will need to replace the axle.

Is your truck still under warranty?

Thanks for the comment, yes it is still under warranty, I had the same clicking noise as you after applying the brakes at slower speeds.

Good. Hope you dealer takes care of you.

I was lucky that I caught mine before the bearing cup went away and it lost the needle bearings.

I've had a clicking for a year. At slow speeds kind of coasting. Barely under power. Around 10-15 MPH. U joints look ok. No play that I can find. Probably gonna take it to the dealer before warranty is up

Big caliper bolts loose, or splash shield maybe?

What kind of off-roading did this rig see? Any hard hits, or just normal DD on road duties?
