Im saving for the 2in Mopar lift...but it dawned on me that its essentially the same as the Rubi suspension. So my question is will the lift change my tow rating? If memory serves the rubi has a lower tow capacity over the max tow package

I’m thinking the rubicon can’t tow as much is due to it’s heavier curb weight not the suspension

Yea I cant seem to find exactly why their capacity is lower. I also cant seem to find a definitive answer as to if the MOPAR lift will change tow capacity. I suppose Ill have to call MOPAR.

Rubicon comes equipped with 33s. Larger tires effect towing capacity as well. If you were to throw 33s on a Sports with Max Tow, I bet it wouldn't be rated to Tow 7650lbs.

The GVWR of both the Rubicon and Sport with Max Tow is 6250lbs. Weight of the Sports is lighter than the Rubicon by approximately 400lbs. That is also the difference in their payload capacities.

Rubicon is equipped with heavier tires, additional armor and electronics that the Sport does not. That, I assume, is most
the difference.

Doesn't the Sport-S have the beefier axle and/or diff?

Not the same as rubicon suspension. You gain an additional inch of lift and have longer front arms in lift kit.

Thank you... I have the rubi and was just about to pull the trigger on the mopar lift... I hate mis information.... So is there really a big difference in the stock suspension vs. the mopar lift ? I had never heard that they were the same suspension before Gren71 mentioned it.

the Mopar lift is a day and night improvement over the rubicon stock suspension. in addition to the 2 inch or whatever lift the shocks are valved better and it’s less of a bouncy ride all around

100% agree... I just did the MOPAR kit on my stock rubi. Definitely got slightly more than 2" of lift over the stock Rubi suspension.

Like the other member said, they are definitely not the same suspension. What I meant was that they will end up at a similar end height, not necessarily the same ride quality. And to be fair, I posted that back when I was very new to the JT and didnt know much at all.

I dont know about the rubi suspension but since I keep seeing stuff about it bottoming out with small bumps, the MPP lift is defiantly the way to go.

A LOT of people have been very pleased on here with that lift so im sure you will be as well.
