Metalcloak seems to be the only company recommending driveshafts after lift. Even on a 2.5 inch lift they recommend it which is interesting.
Yeah, I thought on the JT it wasn't an issue until you are flexing full on 3.5+. Metal Cloak lifts do tend to give you a full 1" extra if I remember correctly so that could make sense. Not sure how they get a new driveshaft at 2.5 though...

The Mopar Stage 3 on the JK/JL does include a front driveshaft though.

Guessing it’s because of the level of downward travel they offer over some of the other brands, not just the lift height.

Funny that a company would recommend an extra part that they sell.. Almost like they are in to to make money.

Are those stock rims? Do you rub? Did you have to get new wheels with a better back space?

Check my profile. It's Clayton's 2.5" but it worked out to 3.5". With the shorter Overland fenders it's about right. I don't mind big wheels gaps if the tire is the right size for the truck, it is what it is. The whole wheel gap thing comes into play when it's tiny wheels on road cars. Trucks are meant to have gaps.

so update; I went from 34’s to 37’s and 2.5” blocks to a 4.5” suspension lift. Much better!
I am 6’ tall so you can see the height difference with just my head showing over the hood now.

Those are JLUR wheels, I was running them on 1.75 inch wheel spacers with a level and a stubby bumper. I have since changed to 17x9 wheels with a -12 offset and no spacer on a 3.5 inch Metalcloak.

Mines got about 3.5 inches of lift if you count the front Rubicon spring take offs I installed and the 2.5 inch ReadyLift. It looked ok on 35's but looks way better on 37's. 37's should be the standard for anything over 3 inches of lift since 35's will fit stock

Sport S Max Tow with 3.5inch Clayton Overland Plus and 35x12.5x17 BFGs and Black Rhino Arsenal Wheels with -18mm offset. I had to add limiting straps in the rear as the spring would leave the spring perch at full droop.

I just dumped my 37 tires and went with 35! :) Might not be the coolest kid on the block anymore, but LOVE how it drives, handles in snow/ice, and gearing is great.
(3.5" lift here on a 2020 Rubicon with pizza cutters too! Threw out my 37x12.5 wides and went for a 35x10.5r17. Love them. Wont go back)

I guess we all have our preferences, none better, none worse... just a bit different. Love all the photos posted too, IMO, they all look pretty darn good compared to what else is on the road regardless of my preferences.

ps.
I had jeeps on 37s for years, but I bought the Gladiator to be a more versatile vehicle and fit my changing requirements. I bought the gladiator for the pickup box and tow capacity. For those who will use it as a tow vehicle, might want to consider smaller tires. I've changed out plenty of bent axles from big tires, and the re-gear and tire weight is a trade-off, especially if towing. IMO, if you want a vehicle for just offroad, might want to go 37s... or bigger. And you probably should re-consider the Wrangler (for short wheelbase and better departure angle). The Gladiator is the best offroad pickup I think, but it's a pickup.
