Problem Probably in your heads. Also there could be a restriction in a hose somewhere slowing water movement.I have no issues with trans temp. It's rock solid. Seems unreasonable to demand manual shifting in any modern automatic vehicle, but admittedly I have not read the owners manual and can't confirm or deny.
My trailer is a measly 2360lbs on the scale when loaded for 3 weeks.. and more often it's not loaded for 3 weeks. Even without the trailer, the same symptoms persist.
The engine is completely stock. I've tried a number of things with the 3.6 and using JScan to manually turn the rad fan on high during hill climbs helped slightly. Otherwise, everything else I've tried made no noticeable difference.
Replaced thermostat 3 times.
Replaced water pump
Oil cooler
Radiator twice, including testing the Mishimoto radiator.
Removed my winch to see if air blockage could be the problem
I even created stiffer radiator shrouds to force wind through the radiator, making sure it's not escaping around the radiator.

After my last trip through NV, ID, UT, CO, and the 17 hour drive home.. I picked up the Eco Diesel the day after I arrived home.
I already have the S&B hood scoops sitting in my office, along with a number of other mods. I think it will serve my use better, and maybe with a tune, have plenty of torque to pull mountain passes with comfort.
It's all new with the new engine from Jasper's EnginesProblem Probably in your heads. Also there could be a restriction in a hose somewhere slowing water movement.
I know ( I read that earlier today ) did they do a tear down to see what was the problem with the old one ?It's all new with the new engine from Jasper's Engines
No the shop said they likely couldn't find the root cause, it would just burn money on labor and it was already expensive enough. It was sent back to Jasper's for the core refund.I know ( I read that earlier today ) did they do a tear down to see what was the problem with the old one ?
Close!Don't complain. I bet he did the Rubicon trail in under 45 minutes in the Porsche.
Why not have options? I’m not advocating that everyone should have any particular engine but my question is Why not have options?Dude, you have an F350 diesel, a Porsche and a Tesla model Y in your sig. Apples to oranges much? My Cummins-powered Ram 3500 smokes my Jeep with a load. So?
I think it's because the top brass at Stellantis (like others) decided we all wanted EV's and have deluded themselves into believing there will be no more IC engines in 10 years. That's why they dropped the Eco Diesel in the Ram 1500 (then Jeep followed suit), they thought everyone would flock to REV 1500, and they dropped the diesel and didn't even have the REV 1500 ready yet, brilliant! The "one size fits all" marketing and engineering doesn't seem to be working does it? I think EV's have for the time and technology filled their niche (look at the sales), other people have other needs and desires and they better realize it. But the "free" money from Uncle Sam for the EV's is hard to resist for many...I don't want one.I'm actually surprised we haven't seen the Hurricane go into more platforms. Chrysler first announced the Hurricane engine back in 2013. It took 10 years before it actually was put into a vehicle, and Stellantis has slow walked the Hurricane ever since. I remember when the Hurricane was supposed to be Chrysler's answer to Ford's EcoBoost engines.
I don’t have the truck with me this morning but I believe stock it was around 1200 pounds…but of course it’s not stock so the capacity is less. I usually am concerned with the GVWR.
How will that be better? I have a diesel work truck that screams driving into the wind uphill.
What's your payload capacity?
Obviously then it was good enough to salvage a bunch of parts from which Jasper most assuredly will.No the shop said they likely couldn't find the root cause, it would just burn money on labor and it was already expensive enough. It was sent back to Jasper's for the core refund.
It does require removal of original motor mounts New mounts reinforcement and significant welding skills. Why not have options? I’m not advocating that everyone should have any particular engine but my question is Why not have options?
If AMW can stuff a Helliphant monster in there than a 5.7 shouldn’t be a big deal.
Possibly, but Jasper's never saw the motor and didn't know what condition it was in. It's just standard process to give a core refund in exchange for the original damaged motor.Obviously then it was good enough to salvage a bunch of parts from which Jasper most assuredly will.
So you maxed the payload and then wondered why the truck responded the way it did?I don’t have the truck with me this morning but I believe stock it was around 1200 pounds…but of course it’s not stock so the capacity is less. I usually am concerned with the GVWR.
Yes!So you maxed the payload and then wondered why the truck responded the way it did?
That matters. Weight low = good. (the exact same weight distribution raised up can cause sway, lowering it can reduce it - for those looking on, it's not just where it is front to back, it's how high it is as well)The weight above the frame is minimal so having a balanced load with a low center of gravity in this case makes it ideal for my purpose and easier to maneuver during articulation off road.
