When a 1960 owner manual talked of retorquing the head bolts and setting valve lash, and points and so on - and explained how to do it all right in a book in your glovebox.
Now the manual tells you not to drink the battery acid 😂😂

And don't stick your hand into a spinning fan.
How did our grandparents survive (well, some with only 3 or 4 fingers.........)

So we are comparing a 1918 cam in block, push rod system V8 design to a dual OHC V6 ?
No, not comparing, just pointing out the fact that the user wants to jump into a Chevy which has well known valve train issues going on 14 years now........unless they get the 4 cylinder.

Good luck with that, let me know how it works out for you.
Well they just messaged me and are now claiming they found a PCM flash for the misfires and it hasn’t thrown a code in several trips. Not sure I have much faith, but I will take it to redline when I get to the highway and see if it comes back on. I had no issues at low rpms but when it crossed 4.5-5k rpms is when it would misfire. I never go WOT but was in a situation last week when I had to. They also replaced the clutch and gear position sensor under the recalls. Was hoping to wait longer for the clutch to be replaced, but oh well. I get the truck back today and then I have time to weigh my options.

And I thought the Chevy valve train was superior because some of the massive high-perf AMC guys are building up their 401s with LS rockers and so on.

So if Chevy is 14 years, then Jeep is only 10 years because our valve train problems with the PUG can't have started prior to 2015 (2016 model year) because these followers didn't exist until 2015.
We've got some catching up to do! Jeep can't fix these for another 4 years!

Possible - my 2022 misfire was resolved with a PCM "flash".
(redline is well above your 4500-5000)

I know it’s above that, but it didn’t misfire until I went to that range and figure I will test it by taking past that and up to redline.

Well the PCM flash didn’t work. Tested it out on a 2nd gear WOT and let out at 5.5k rpms and the CEL started blinking again. They obviously didn’t bother to pull the valve cover and inspect the cam or valvetrain. They said I had to pay the diagnostic fee but if it came back they would waive it. So I am going to take it back in and have them actually look into it. It’s only misfiring at higher rpm’s at the moment.

A cam/high lift follower portion won't misfire below 3,000 RPM.

Which points more to a high lift valve situation than certain other possible issues. That alone should be somewhat of a clue (for them)

The tech should run a VVL service test. It is in WiTech, under PCM tests. It will operate the VVL at high and low lift settings, allowing the tech to see if a misfire is caused by a failure of the VVL rocker arms or possibly the VVL solenoid. It is a first step for me when diagnosing a misfire that could be caused by possible VVL issues. I say this because there are other possibilities for your misfire, but this test is a good starting point for high RPM misfire diagnosis. This is a picture of the results of a VVL test I ran.

Thank you! I will definitely run that by them tomorrow when I drop it off.

Just read on one of the Gladiator problem Facebook groups that it seems some dealers are charging a fee and giving customers front of the line privileges on getting their cams replaced.

$35, really? That service department doesn’t understand supply and demand economics then.

Ethical issues aside, I thought the same thing.
