I REALLY wish I had hit the off road pages and showed my temperatures on this 0 degree day with the snow plow on the front. People would be jumping up and down. The guys at the dealership? Not so much.I saw temps around 235 a lot last summer. I think 237 was the highest before I slowed down to let it cool. Defiantly got my pucker factor up since I didnt know what the allowed spec was. This was both on highways with a heavy load as well as just slow 30mph speeds up dirt roads in triple degree temps with a 25 mile long grade pushing 15-25 %
Oh man yeah that would be frustrating haha. Well...good thing for those heated seats and steering wheel I guess lol. I do agree though that the location of that ambient sensor is in a really bad spot.I REALLY wish I had hit the off road pages and showed my temperatures on this 0 degree day with the snow plow on the front. I missed catching a pic of the high of 101 just seconds before while it was still moving.
The plow reverses air flow and pulls engine bay air forward across the ambient air temp sensor which of course negates any air flow on the highway. I was running somewhere in the 230 degree range on this day. Did it bother me?
No.
The only part that bothered me is the fact that the HVAC relies on the ambient air temp sensor reading and so it cut off the HVAC heat function and wanted to run AC.
Pic shows snow on the ground.

Now do it with 50° higher ambient. I should be able to do it here soon seeing as our spring only lasts 2 days. Last year we hit 98 on 02/22 (not gonna happen this year) and 101 03/12.Finally got out today and did the temp challenge.
Fully warmed up after 20 minutes of mixed town and country and freshly parked (it had just flipped 3:46

4-5 minutes at idle

It jumped up there pretty good at about 7 minutes

I hit 221 yesterday when letting my truck idle while loading lumber onto the trailer. It was up and down almost exactly like yours. Driving it spiked up to about 216 then dropped to 192, then back up to 195 or so and stuck in that range until stopped againFinally got out today and did the temp challenge.

Just looked up that part number. Looks to be what is factory installed for the EcoDiesel and the Wrangler 4XE models.Holy smokes 72 amps!
Both kick out a lot of heat (diesel/4xe). Don't expect the 2.0 turbo to be used with 4xe in the JT - too much heat for the tow ratings.Just looked up that part number. Looks to be what is factory installed for the EcoDiesel and the Wrangler 4XE models.
